21  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Big Bang Theory Tissue Box on: August 20, 2012 08:58:20 PM
Inspired by the rubik's cube tissue box on Big Bang Theory! Honestly, haven't really watched the show, but I hear it's awesome. And I do love the rubik's cube, so I made this for our coffee table in our living room.

one side of the box...

and another side...

and aerial shot!

Thanks for looking! Let me know what ya think!

22  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Bento Swap Round 5 Gallery! on: August 20, 2012 05:58:05 PM
I received from Calabaza today!!!!

She made me a great utensil roll and cloth napkin!

A bento box strap with an apple button on it and sauce containers!

A silicone cake mold, tiny apple paper puncher, and bread sandwich maker!

And tiny cookie cutters! These are great! I have found it so difficult to find small cookie cutters, especially ones that aren't Christmasy so these are fantastic!

Thank you so much, Calabaza! I love all of it!!!

23  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Found wooden hoops on: August 14, 2012 04:02:28 PM
Well, I spoke too soon. I was able to find some wooden hoops at Hobby Lobby. It is surprising tho that the other stores don't have them. I hope they're not dialing back production on them either.

So... I've never made a hoopla before. I've done plenty of embroidery and cross-stitching, but never used a hoop as a finished item before. Does anyone have suggestions on how to finish the back so it looks nice? I'd greatly appreciate it!

I got my store bought bento items today. I love that store, but it's on the opposite side of town from where I live. However, had to drop my sister off at the airport today  Embarrassed but it meant I got to go to Tokyo Discount Outlet!  Cheesy

So many senders! I guess I'm the only one having difficulty finding a wooden hoop? They seem to be out of stock in the Vegas area. I've checked Michael's and Joann's. Perhaps Walmart has them? The stores seem to have plenty of plastic hoops, but I'd really prefer a wooden one for this.

Here's a better angle of the quilt I made Onyxnox for this swap.

The background fabric is navy blue with black dots all over it and the white and light blue fabrics have tree/leaf patterns to it.

Just checking in. I can't believe we have hoops shipped already. I know what I'm going to do and I think I'll have enough in my stash to pull it off, although I need to buy a hoop. Smiley

My family is coming in to town today and we have a busy weekend planned so I'll begin crafting on Tuesday.

I know what I'll be crafting for this swap, but it'll be a few days until I can actually start working on it. My family is coming in to town today so I'm very excited to see them, but we have a very packed schedule while they're here. I'll start crafting Tuesday. Smiley

These are the first prayer flags I've ever made. Honestly, I had never heard of them before this swap, but I LOVE the idea. I also think it's really cool how different and unique everyone's flags and prayers are. This has been a truly amazing swap.

I received my flag from waterbaby today and I LOVE IT!

I asked my partners for a flag wishing for my sister's health as she's had some issues the last few years. I absolutely love the hands raised up to the sun/light. I didn't tell waterbaby about this, but this image holds a lot of meaning for me and I think it's fantastic she used it. Thank you!!!!!
