11  Re: Fabric Art Journal Pages Swap - Send out December 16 in The Swap Gallery by meowari on: December 19, 2013 07:07:16 PM
I received from goatgodess today and it's beyond anything I expected! Thank you so much!
She also gave me some of the interfacing that she used on my page, I think I may try to make another one now  Grin
It's so beautiful, I can't wait to put it in my wedding/honeymoon journal! What a great swap!
Get ready to add to the awesomeness that is this gallery:

( I keep seeing more and more details the more I look at it <3 <3 )

Not the best pictures, but you get the point. I got a 2in ruler tattooed on my left index finger and a 5cm ruler tattooed on my right index finger. The first two pictures are right after I got them, the last one is after it healed. It's been almost 6 years since I got them, they've blurred a little, but pretty much look the same as in the last picture. They really have come in handy!

And this is my patchwork arm, even though people think it's barbed wire all of the time... The idea was to get each patch filled in whenever I went somewhere new, but I haven't had a lot of money, so only 5 are filled in. This picture was from 2005 or 2006, I think:

I've spent the last two weeks browsing 'organization' on Pinterest and have not accomplished one thing.  Roll Eyes Cheesy
I know exactly how you feel! I've been on pintrest so much this past week, it's ridiculous!
I did, however, crochet a washable swiffer dusting cover today while watching an NCIS marathon. I made it a bubbly-texture because I thought it would pick up more dust, but I think I should have made it out of acrylic yarn instead of cotton. I'm going to make a chevron-type textured one next to use when I half-*ss mop the floors. I think the cotton will be better for that. Here's the bubbly-duster:

Thank goodness you guys have bigger stashes than I do! Sharalee, my ultimate goal is to move into a Tiny House ( http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/ ), every time I get more space, I just fill it up!
I don't know if this will help or not, but I used to keep my fabric and yarn in one of these wire shelving units:

They are a little annoying to deal with, but are fairly cheap (around $25 for 6 cubes) and are pretty good for storing fabric. I got rid of mine when I got rid of most of my fabric, but now I wish I had kept them (and the fabric, but only about 75% of the time... 3 years later and I keep thinking of it. I know if I had given it away, I wouldn't think of it at all, but I abandoned it behind a closed Salvation Army... I was in a blind cleaning frenzy because I had to move ASAP  Cry ).
Hands are a little stiff today, but not hurting as much. Going to Physical Therapy today after work, so maybe it will help!
Lovesclutter, did you change your picture? I think you should go on that coffee date if you already haven't- you never know!

Oooh! I love the idea of shaming by posting pictures! Here's my mess (I can't believe I'm posting this  Embarrassed):
(view from the door- to the right is the futon with stuff I'm sorting through on it. The white table to the left of the closet with all of the stuff piled on it is my "workspace". All of the stuff piled up between the table and the closet is going to be sold on ebay. The white shelf above the table holds wooden craft supplies, whimsies, spray paint, and other small supplies. I have paintbrushes, clay tools, and x-acto knives in the cups under the shelf. I have my acrylic paints on the closet door)

(view facing the door. I have miscelaneous small things stored in the shoe holder on the back of the door. I have stamping supplies, hole punches, and eylets & brads on the black shelf to the right. Fabric dye & paint, some beads, and tchotchkies on the left)

(unpacked supplies in closet. Knitting needles are in that wine gift box, waiting to be shipped to a friend because I finally gave up on knitting)

(books, magazines, paper supplies, glue, misc. junk)

(fabric and inspiration wall)

I totally fell asleep before 8:30 last night... Some wild Friday night, huh? Here are the inchies I sent to pioneer9:

I'll post the twinchies in a minute, it's not letting me load them right now.

I received from pioneer9 today! She went with my "cat" theme and boy-oh-boy, did I get some awesome cat inchies:

And I think I know what I might do with my inchies now! I bought a couple of these little cube shelves at the Dollar Tree a while back and haven't used them for anything. I think I'll paint it black and use it as a display for my inchies! Look at what a perfect size it is for them:

I got my package from Dr. Craft today!
She went with my themes of:
Vintage advertisements

She hand coloured magazine covers for the backgrounds and used pictures and words from a magazine from 1889 to make my inchies! I'm going to frame them just as they are and put them up in the living room, right next to my boyfriend's Celtics, Red Sox, and Bruins memorabilia- they'll fit in perfectly!

I'm going to use them as the centerpieces of some Teesha Moore style patches as soon as can sew again!

She also sent some vintage ads from the 1890's that I am going to frame and put up as soon as I can get to Staples to have some good copies of them made!
Thank you so much, Dr. Craft!
