I claim pilarfarmer for mermaids

My name is Olivia and I live in southern California, USA. I'm not really into super girly stuff, so please use pinks and pastels sparingly.  Artful nudity encouraged! I tend to shy away from religious and political topics.

I love all the ABC projects and have been wanting to start one of my own.  It's been difficult to come up with an original theme because everyone's are so great, but I think I have finally found one that speaks to me.  Famous Monsters ABCs!  I haven't seen this yet, so if someone else already did it, sorry for copying, it was unintentional.

My themes:
Famous Monsters ABCs -all letters available! (vertical & 2d only as I plan to frame when complete- I prefer to avoid the phrase "__ is for__" but would rather prefer just the name of the monster, but if it's a crucial element of your design then go for it! I wouldn't want to cramp your artistic style Wink

942  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing ATC Swap -- December 2012 GALLERY! on: January 05, 2013 05:03:32 PM
gozer's ATCs rule!  Had to say that!

Anyway, I got an ATC from Robinpich that also rules!

I love it so much!  It has awesome stitching details, and such interesting elements.  The "O" & "L" are fabric!  They look like they were perhaps salvaged from old t-shirts?  Super cool technique!  I must say, I had no idea that you could run paper through a sewing machine!  Thanks Robin!
943  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Re: Have we done this yet? WHAT to do with all your favorite ATCs... on: January 05, 2013 10:58:11 AM
You could always do something like this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=414021.0 with them.  You could scan and print them if you don't want to use the originals.  Maybe sew a bunch together and make a tote out of them?

Or...you could scan and print them onto iron transfer paper and iron it onto a blank tee.  I like this idea Smiley  You could probably even enlarge it if you scan it at a high enough resolution.

You know, I hadn't really thought about it, because I don't have very many ATCs yet.  I'm glad you asked though, because I really like both these ideas.  I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy with inspiration, and the possibilities are buzzing around in my head.  I love that feeling!

Oh I love her!!  I know how you feel about loving someone's work so much that you want to make something similar for yourself.  I see so many wonderful dolls that I would totally copy if I had the skills!  I think it is safe as long as you don't try selling them as your own art, and give credit to the source of the inspiration.  Thanks for the link btw, I totally added that shop to my favorites.  Who knows, maybe I'll buy something and that artist will have you to thank for the advertisement!  Smiley
