81  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap -- April 2013 GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by La Chapa on: May 01, 2013 08:20:41 AM
I received this ATC from Doctor Whaddayoudoinghere for my Famous monsters ABCs theme.

It's Pyramid head from Silent Hill!  Now I have to see the movie!  Thanks for the ATC & the movie homework.  (I love movie homework!)  Wink

I also received this mini gallery piece by blupaisan.

It is her first time working with acrylics!  Can you believe it!?  AND, she did it on a gorgeous piece of birch bark from the Adirondacks!  Blupaisan, you are uber talented!  I may just have to put aside a little section of wall for your ATCs.  Anyway, my son loved it!  Oh, almost forgot to mention: it's called "one-eyed snow wolf" because there is a little hole (perhaps bored by a beetle?) where one of the eyes would be.  If you look closely you can see it (it looks white because of the cover for my scanner showing through.)  Here's a shot of the beautiful barky backside too.

Thanks again!

Um, I can't believe that I'm just now checking the April gallery!  Well, it is great so far & I especially love the naughty dog and the scratchboard puns!

I received this ATC from OathKeeper for my Walking Dead theme:

So, I'm just wondering, is Daryl everyone's favorite character?  Seriously, because I don't know anyone who doesn't love him the most.  Anyway, thanks OathKeeper, I love it!

I got my tiny monster and he is the cutest thing ever!  I wanted something creepy, cute, and Tim Burtonesque & Staar84 delivered.

This is my little monster coin purse.

I LOVE the fabrics she used, and the one big eye.  Staar84 couldn't have known this (I think) but I collect coin purses!  I just love them for some reason.
Thank you Staar84!  He is perfect, perfect, perfect!

Oh, and he came with a candy in his mouth, which I quickly devoured. Tongue

Yay, for more awesome monsters!

Well, my partner received over a week ago, so I'm going to go ahead and post what I sent her.

This is my version of a baby Nessie.  I'm a bit jealous of the other Nessie with the long neck, because I just couldn't get mine to be under 4 inches with a neck.  So I decided that this was just a baby and that loch monsters hatch with short necks which later develop into longer necks as they grow.  If that's not convincing enough for you, then feel free to just call it a sea monster.   Grin

Anyone interested?  I know there have been a bunch of Tim Burton swaps, but they were all before I joined Craftster.  Here are some links to the last few swap galleries.

I received two awesome ATCs!

blupaisan combined two of my themes and made me this wonderful Siamese twin skeleton ATC that I love, love, love!

AND FairyHazeDesigns sent me this one with Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Alone" done as word art.  I really love and relate to this poem.  Thank you so much for reminding me why I love EAP's work so much!

I can't believe I'm in my sixth month of ATC swapping!  The time has flown ridiculously!  Anyway, I'm still loving it!

These are the ATCs that I made for the ongoing swap.

(sorry for the blurry pic!)

Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoyed them.  Smiley

Oh wow! Love the Seasonal Hope and Luna moth card by llisaredd! Very cool.

And the Andy Warhol Frankenstein is giving me pangs of jealousy.  Any chance there will be an edition? I'm only half joking.

I received this lovely Billie Holiday card from llisaredd.  It's called "Lady Day" and it expresses exactly what I love so much about Billie Holiday.  She was such a sentimental romantic.  It has lyrics from the song "Don't Explain."  Thanks llisaredd, I love it!

90  Bullfrog (with free pattern link) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by La Chapa on: March 20, 2013 10:10:02 AM
Hey everyone!

I made this crochet bullfrog for my two-year-old as a gift for the Spring equinox.  I had received a knit frog in a swap, & he fell in love with it, but as he is destructive, and I treasure my handmade gifts, I didn't really let him play with it.  So I decided to crochet him his own friend.

I originally made the back leg and foot as one long piece that got thinner at the knee and ankle, but I couldn't really fold the legs up too well, even with wire in it.  So, I decided to make the leg in three pieces.  I'm so glad I did because it looks much better!  Sorry I don't have before picks, but here he is all finished up.

If you'd like to make your own bullfrog, I posted a free pattern on my blog!
