The Forest floor is so lovely & unique!

132  Snoopy in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by La Chapa on: February 04, 2013 03:22:35 PM
I made this for the Winter OTT swap.  (Yes, I'm a little late posting  Embarrassed )
Anyway, I rarely follow a pattern to the T, but I did with this one.  Here's the link in case you wish to make your own beagle!
http://bethsco.blogspot.com/2011/12/snoopy.html
the only thing is that I made a crochet version of the scarf, because I don't know how to knit.

Hope you like him! Thanks for looking Smiley

133  a couple of personal swaps & January's ATCs in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by La Chapa on: February 02, 2013 06:20:46 PM
I did these for a personal swap.

This one is for a personal swap I'm doing with someone from a different site.  We both share a love of monstrous creatures & Nosferatu in specific!

It's all color pencil & ebony pencil.  I kinda wanted to add some black ink to it, but I'm afraid to screw it up because I don't have the steadiest hand.  What do you guys think?

This a set of two that fit together as one scene.

They are supposed to be a vintage 20's Raccoon couple at the beach.

I've been kind of all over the place with my technique and style.  I wonder if I'll ever "settle" into something.
Anyway, these are my ATCs for the January ongoing swap:

Well, that's it!  I had a lot of fun this month!
Thanks for looking!

134  Gremlin in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by La Chapa on: January 31, 2013 10:26:14 AM
I made this guy for a swap in another group back in December.  My swap partner's favorite Christmas movie was Gremlins.  Lucky for me, I found this (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/stripe-the-gremlin) pattern, which helped a lot.  For some reason I couldn't quite follow the body section of the pattern, so I improvised that part trying to copy it as closely as possible, & I also added a nose.  I had a hard time giving him away because he turned out to be one of my favorite amis that I've made.

He didn't like the flash from my camera too much!!

I hope you like him!

I have a couple of themes on my list that I secretly get a little (okay a lot) extra excited about when someone claims it.  Medusa is definitely one of those.  I recently received this gorgeous addition to my Medusa collection.

It is from corchen, & it is called "Athena's Curse"

Is is so beautiful!  Corchen mentioned that the snake curling around her shoulder is her favorite one.  Mine is a tie between the one that falls on the side of her cheek, and the one that is curling around her neck.  Thanks corchen!  I know she was hard to let go of, but I do love her so much and will take good care of her!

136  Re: 4x6 Art Swap Round 6- Gallery in The Swap Gallery by La Chapa on: January 27, 2013 09:41:34 PM
I received this gorgeous piece from ThriftyLiving4U a couple of days ago.  It is a beautiful suncatcher-like glass & paper collage piece (I think)  It was tricky to photograph & I had to wait for it to stop raining.

I took two pictures.  One with the sun shining on it, the other with the sun lighting it from behind.  Unfortunately neither one shows how beautifully colorful & translucent it really is.

The funny thing is that although our pieces are as different as night and day,  we both chose animals and trees as our subject matter.  I'd say we were well partnered!  Thank you sooooo much ThriftyLiving4U!

137  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap -- December 2012 GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by La Chapa on: January 24, 2013 07:33:29 AM
Hi everyone!  So I really messed this month up!  First I posted some of my ATC pics in the wrong month's gallery, and then I forgot to post one completely!

So here is a snowflake ATC that I got from gala_apples

I am so sorry for forgetting to post it!  I truly love it!  It reminds me an old school package wrapped in brown paper, that was left on a doorstep and got snowed on.  Heehee, my mind makes up stories for everything that way!
Thanks again gala!!

I have some lovely ATCs to share with you all!!

from Kwality570 for my butterflies theme...

Maurice! My very own butterfly hunting kwality monster!  The colors are much more vibrant in life, but I just couldn't get the colors right.  I love it.  I have an entomology wall where I have some butterfly & beetle identification guides, a couple of mounted butterflies, some fine art photos, and some insect art prints & now my little butterfly & moth ATC collection!  I told you guys I was a big nerd! Lol!
Thank you Kwality570!

and Susie Apple sent me my first ATC for my Famous Monsters ABCs project AND an EXTRA too!

I love these both so much!!  She also sent some nice background sheets!  Thanks so much Susie Apple!  You spoiled me & I love you for it! Kiss

139  Cthulhu a Lovecraftian nightmare in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by La Chapa on: January 22, 2013 05:41:45 PM
I awoke one ill-fated night from a troubled slumber in which I had the most disturbing dream.  I refer to it now as a dream only from a lack of a better word to describe what I experienced, for unlike any dream I had ever had before, this particular one filled me with an apprehension that I could not shake upon awakening.  If I did not know better, I would venture to say that what I experienced while in this so called dream, really and truly did happen to me and has left me forever scarred.  I dare not utter the contents of this "dream" lest I frighten you to histerics, I will however say that I have been left with a terrible foreboding that life as we know it is about to change forever.  That catastrophic events will soon be upon us!  Beware!  Beware for dark forces are at work to raise the sleeping Cthulhu!  I have recreated his terrible visage in yarn for all to view.  Prepare thyselves for his time is coming!

Hey folks!  Just popping in to post these ATCs that I got from pilarfarmer for the DECEMBER swap.  I had a derp moment and posted them in January's gallery!  Oops!

Anyway, here they are, they are for my Day of the Dead theme

My absolute favorite is the dancing Catrina entitled "Baile"!  I love them both, but this one made me gasp.  Plus it was hidden behind another card, and I didn't even see it until I went to scan them.  Thank you so much pilarfarmer!
