2  Monster Poof in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by La Chapa on: August 05, 2014 11:43:04 PM
I made this little fella for Cryssoleil in the monster swap a while back.  I just made him up, and I envisioned him as some little poofy creature that lives in hollow trees, and root clusters and such.  I've been wanting to make myself a little village of them because I think it's so cute.

3  Freeform cross body bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by La Chapa on: August 05, 2014 03:59:24 PM
I made this cross body bag for Acadian Driftwood in the Enchanted Forest and Woodland Creature swap.  I wanted to find something to make where I could use some of my shaping skills from all the amigurumi making that I've done, but that would be a bit more useful.  It's mostly just scrumbling in different textured yarns and using different stitches.  I added some mushrooms and dangly plant bits to tie it into the theme (mushrooms was one of her themes.)  I busted out the sewing machine for the first time in over 10 years, and basically relearned the basics, VERY basic basics, in order to sew in a liner.  I toyed with the idea of adding a flap and button closure, or a zipper, but everything I was doing was so new to me that I decided not to freak myself out by over-complicating it.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I think it's pretty good for a first attempt.  Now, I want to make more!  Plus, I've been inspired to brave other projects where sewing is involved.

Well, we have 5 swappers so far!  Hopefully we get at least one more so that we have a nice even number!  If you are on the fence, perhaps I can convince you by promising to give feedback as soon as your package arrives, and by reminding you that we're only swapping for 1 or 2 items!  That's easy peasy pumpkin squeezy!  Cheesy

While we count down the days until I can assign partners, I thought I'd post a bit of inspiration!  All images are preceded by their Pinterest link in order to give proper credit.  Smiley

If these were maryjanes, I'd be all over them!

How cool is this corpse flower brooch!?

And THIS! Ok, so it doesn't have a carnivorous plant on it, but you see it right?  Could so be one!

The sleepy kitty ornaments are adorable Grab a coffee!  I'll have to check out your Etsy page!  Wink

SO, I received my package from anna.wahnsinn, and it totally rocks!
First, she sent these super cute, super fun, juggling balls for my 4yr old son. (He's making out like a bandit from this swap!)

The colors look a little washed out as I used my phone to take this, but the fabric is lovely and vibrant.  I love the themes she chose too!

Next, she sent me this super duper awesome seed bead necklace!

It is so gorgeous, and I feel like Frida Kahlo wearing it!  My son was laughing at me, because I told him I felt like an Egyptian goddess, and then I proceeded to "walk like an Egyptian."  That phrase may be lost on the younger generation, not sure.  Now, I want one in every color!

Thank you Anna.wahnsinn!  I love, love everthing!  Feel free to claim me for another necklace again, and again, and again, and again.  Haha!  Grin

Averia, that would have been pure evil of me if I did that! Haha.  For some reason, Pinhead doesn't seem menacing to me at all although he probably should!  If you watch some of the other episodes, you realize he's not such a bad guy.  Haha, I sound crazy!  Anyway, the grey/blue was labeled as "denim blue" so I guess it's supposed to look like faded jeans?  I tried to stick to your color scheme, but I couldn't find bright blue for some odd reason.  Here's a pic where they may or may not look marginally bluer...

9  Min Pin amigurumi in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by La Chapa on: July 15, 2014 05:28:44 PM
I made this little Miniature Pinscher for kittykill in the OWS.  It was a bit fiddly getting all the details right, and I'm not sure if it looks too much like a chihuahua, but I'm pretty happy with how he came out.  I didn't use any pattern.  I find it very relaxing to just work without having to worry about reading a pattern or taking notes to write a pattern from.

10  Yoda doll in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by La Chapa on: July 14, 2014 10:21:22 PM
I made this little Yoda for Alliekat914 in the OWS.  No pattern, I just had fun with it.  I was originally going to give him more face detail, but he looked so cute that I was afraid of ruining him, so I left him alone.
