So pretty!  I especially like the leaves - the dark outline and light insides.

The leaves are my favorite too!

It is also a well known gospel song, is it not?  Very upbeat!

I must listen to that "mash" up...sounds like it would indeed bring you joy and make your day!

Love your font...and what a cheery hoop!

Thanks for sharing!

ha - I also spied your print with the old all-in-one record player!  Now that brings back fond memories to me as well!

 oooo--and white go-go boots! Grin

Just do a search on youtube for "Barbra Streisand Judy Garland Happy Day" and you will find all the loveliness in the world. Smiley

P.S. I love prints by Lee!

I've been working on a certain hoop and I finally finished it yesterday. It was inspired by something very specific, a song by two very special ladies. I designed the pattern myself using a vintage flower pattern provided by French Knots and three little words in my new favorite font.

The Inspiration
Barbra is a guest on The Judy Garland Show in the year 1963. They sung a "mash up" before "mash ups" were even a thing. (Thanks Glee.) This is probably one of the greatest and definitely my most favorite mash up that's out there. Barbra is singing her hit "Happy Days are Here Again" while Judy is singing her song "Get Happy". It is sung absolutely beautifully by both, it sends chills up my spine and a smile appears on my face every time I hear this. It's a shame we don't get music like this anymore.

The majority of the hoop was stitched using the Satin Stitch. I used to hate the satin stitch but after using it through out this whole hoop, it definitely became one of my favorites.

Happy Days are Here when you find a font that comes out great when you stitch it up!

Happy Crafting!
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do you organize your floss? on: September 29, 2014 09:56:24 AM
I think I've been through almost all the ways of organizing one's floss. I've done the bag system for a while and it worked out for the most part. The bags took up too much room once they were all full. I recently switched over to the clothespin system and I just love it. I have them in an old suitcase along with my other stitching notions and it's great. They don't get tangled! Also, I guess it depends on what kind of space/case you are working with.

Thank you so so much for all the kind words! Stitching letters use to be so hard for me. I went through so many different kinds of fonts till I found my recent faves. It's all about trial and error.  Smiley

I've been stitching a lot lately so I thought I would share it with you guys.  Smiley

I bought this fabric not knowing what I would do with it. I stashed it away for a while, forgot I had it, found it again and then this happened.

Started stitching with sequins.

I love a good font. And yes, I use the dollhouse I built as a photo prop. Smiley

I also love a good close up shot. Wink

A simple quote deserves a simple stitch.

Well I hope you've enjoyed this peek into my stitching adventures.
Happy Crafting!
