1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Pattern says: working in heel of sole, center 13 sts.... What?? on: June 16, 2006 01:19:02 PM
Ok, so I thought I could follow crochet patterns now, but clearly I can't...

What do they mean? I'm making the Baby Cowboy Booties and can't for the life of me get past this one sentence! Has anyone else made them or understands what they mean??

This is what it says:
Round 5: Working on heel of sole, center 13 sts. Working in front loops of rnd 3, join with sl st in first of 13 centered sts....

Please someone enlighten me before I go crazy  Huh
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Whats the geekiest Mac craft you can think of? on: November 29, 2004 01:01:10 AM
For that to be funny it would have to be 'Apple-Z' for me... I never use the word control for my apple key!! To get the apple key on your keyboard, hold down shift and alt key and press K (on a mac that is obviously)
In either 8 or 9 there was a hidden delete function/shortcut which I can't for the life of me remember where a monster would appear walking across your screen munching away and if you did it 3 times in a row it would turn huge... been a long time, can't remember details. Does anyone else remember that? A screenshot of that on a tshirt would be cool.

edit: OK, just googled 'mac icons' and came up with this:  http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ridge/1217/MacGalleryIndex.html
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Re: where can i find flower prints? on: November 25, 2004 02:25:00 PM
Marimekko is a Finnish textile design company. They've been around for decades and are currently experiencing a revival which has led them to put their prints on anything from children's bibs to garden furniture... yes, gorgeous but overexposed... Try a google image search or try the design/art section at Uni (I'm guessing that's where you are when you say you're going 'home' soon Wink ) for inspiration or just good old copying...
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: felt wrist band question on: November 18, 2004 12:47:59 AM
I think the problem is worse when you use acrylic felt than when you use wool felt. I used wool felt... You could try using an extra layer of felt or some other non-fray material to make it sturdier.
5  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: 1 Hour Baby Booties! on: November 17, 2004 04:48:08 AM

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Yummy Felted Crochet Handbags! on: October 26, 2004 01:16:17 AM
Modkatie, yes... I think when I wrote that I was unknowingly comparing the Nordic stitch to the American thinking the British one was the same as the Nordic one...  that is why I thought they were the same... sorry for the confusion...

From what I can gather, the nordic and possibly continental Europe stitches (you'll know that better living in France) are the same and the British and the American ones are the same.
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Crazy English Teacher having baby . . . Blanket taken, Dammit. Please Help! on: September 11, 2004 12:14:43 AM
How about buying a plain 'baby grow' (the little snap-bottom suits) and stencilling/iron-on transfer/embroidering an appropriate quote or image on it?
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: wrist band frenzy! on: September 11, 2004 12:04:41 AM
Those wristbands are awesome! great work... how can I buy one and how much?? I love the skull!
mel

Hmm, it's hard to know which wristbands people are commenting on now since joey has adopted my thread Wink but the skulls would be mine... thanks Smiley

I haven't been selling them online but will be very shortly so to all of you who are interested in purchasing one; send me a PM and I'll get it sorted as soon as possible. They'll be $10 no matter which design/colour/country you live in... (Don't mean to advertise but have had so many people asking about it...)

If you want more than one, I'll give you a discount of course...

I love penises myself! (especially one in particular... Wink ) Can't for the life of me see what's disgusting, dirty and vile about them. Me thinks someone here needs a bit of counselling perhaps..? I love this one too and will absolutely make one!! Thanks for sharing!
