1  Re: The FABulous Gallery - Fill A Box Swap in The Swap Gallery by MizMosa on: December 15, 2008 06:25:30 PM
Hey all!  I received a package from dragonslair on Friday.  I would have posted sooner, but a nasty stomach bug hit me on Friday afternoon.  Yuck!  Anyway, here we go!

mini pincushions, red rick rack (I use this a lot!), candy canes, cocoa (one packet is missing because I already drank it :-), pin wheel kit

plastic canvas dinosaurs (her boys thought I would like them, how cute!), polymer clay and molds, 3 sets of earrings, chunky red yarn

6 felt mini stockings

Black Apple mini doll (she also donated a second doll to the angel tree in my honor!), crochet coaster, crochet calorimetry.  That should keep the cold out!  It's funny about the doll, the one I made for her was with my own pattern, but I based the hair and features on the Black Apple doll. Coincidence!

extra large frog pincushion and matching needle book

I haven't decided if I want to give any of this as gifts, or if I want to be greedy and keep it all for myself Cheesy
Thanks, dragonslair!  I hope your finals go well.

2  Re: **Pretty Pincushion Swap gallery** in The Swap Gallery by MizMosa on: July 15, 2008 05:40:32 PM
Hi all!  I went away to visit my parents for about 10 days, and when I came back I found this lovely pincushion from amybarnett waiting for me!

(I apologize for my picture taking skills.  I had a hard time getting the colors to come out right)

It's super colorful and cute, and exactly the right size.  It will definitely get a lot of use.  Thanks Amy!!

C'mon all you wonderful craftsters! Let's show some love. Be an angel! Show MizMosa how much you love her! Cheesy You know you wanna! Think of all the perks of becoming an angel Grin
ill do it

Aww thanks!  That's really sweet of you.  My original partner had mentioned that she was looking for a new job, so maybe she just got super busy with that.  Anyway, I still want to show off the items I sent to her.  Grin

a dishtowel embroidered with dancing spoons.  I had trouble parting with this one, I might have to make another for myself!

cherry apron.  I tried out the star stitch on my sewing machine for the first time on the pockets.

June Cleaver kit.  I made the little travel bag out of some vintage-y fabric, strung and knotted some (glass) pearls, made the earrings, and threw in tube of red lipstick.  Put everything on, grab a feather duster, and voila!  Instant June Cleaver.  Wink

4  I won! in Winter Holidays by MizMosa on: December 02, 2007 05:02:49 PM
Just wanted to share my excitement  Grin

A few weeks ago, I saw that my local craft store (Pat Catan's, for those who know it) was having an ornament contest.  You could enter as many times as you wanted, and all of the ornaments would be donated to families in need in my area.  What the hey, I thought...it's for a good cause, and it might put me in a Christmas-y mood.  Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call saying I had won 3rd place!

Here is the ornament:

It's my take on the Jingle Bell Buns ornaments on the WeeWonderfuls site.  I painted her a little differently, and instead of tying a string through the buns I inserted a jewel pin with a bead up through the center and attached a ring.  I really want to make some more to give away as gifts, but I need to pick up some more supplies.  Luckily, I now have a $10 gift certificate to spend on crafty things (that was my prize  Smiley)!

I entered this one too:

It's a milkweed pod that I started to paint to look like Santa, but he started to look like a gnome so I left him that way.  He didn't win anything, but I still think he's cute  Wink

5  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by MizMosa on: November 30, 2007 06:20:40 PM
Here are the photos of the package I sent MandyLikesPie, as promised.

Mandy and I have really similar tastes (thanks for putting us together Sevs and homer!), so she was really fun and easy to craft for.  We both love vintage and vintage styled things.  If we lived in the same place, we'd totally be having old movie marathons together!

This is the stocking.  I made it from a 1950s pattern using felted sweaters.

Here are some of the things I made...votive holders embellished with buttons and rick rack, homemade fudge (inside the little takeout box), a cat stuffy, earrings and bracelet set made with vintage glass beads, choir girl ornament, catnip fish toys for her kitty, and dill dip mix (which sorta looks like catnip or something in this picture).

a little hostess apron, for all of Mandy's holiday entertaining needs!

and finally, the items I purchased.  Fancy post-its and stationary, bunny treats, tiny bottle of Tacky Glue (the cutest glue I've ever seen!), festive notepaper cube, vintage cookbooks (one about baking, one about cut-up cakes, and one about party themes), and everything is sitting on top of a vintage silk scarf.

I also made a wristlet, but forgot to take a picture of it.  Perhaps Mandy would like to post one Smiley

This was such an awesome swap!  Mandy also a fantastic partner.
