I can't believe I forgot to post this one, as I see them every day.

I'm generally not going to include Whimseybox crafts in my 50 projects for 2014 as I feel they're more just a fun chance to try new techniques, and I usually just follow the instructions, however I tried a few different techniques with these and really enjoy how they turned out, so I'll make an exception.

These ring dishes were made with air dry paper clay. I texturized each one in a different way and painted them with bright gouache.

I received from SilverMoon last week!
She started with the cute Fin face, but decided to stalk me on Pinterest and sent me a lovely quote, and even made a beautiful watercolour card with it!
Carving all those words took dedication! I'll probably use the stamp on my Calligraphy Guild's card swap this spring.

That crochet bunny is adorable!

Here are the 2 projects I was too tired to post lastnight.

#10 - Wonder Woman decoupage box.
Also for the geeky swap. I had a lot of fun working on this one.

#11 - Stamps! Most of these were for the hand carved stamp swap, but the browncoat symbol was for the geeky swap.

Now that all of my projects have been posted I have to plan some new ones so I can reach my goal Smiley

It's been nearly 2 months since I last posted so I've got a lot of catching up to do!

My most recent project is this Silver Fox mast that I made to wear to the Arcade Fire concert this past week.
It started with a mask form, to which I added the ears. It's covered in white and silver tissue paper cut into little triangles. The close up shows the "fur" detail that the triangles provided.

Next up is this mini Doctor Horrible crafted for the Geeky swap. Made of sculpey.

On the theme of Sculpey, here's a little dragon that I crafted for my Valentine.

I also stitched a Happy Bunny hoop for the geeky swap.

I'll end off this post with a miniature dropcap painting featuring the Strawberry Thief from on of William Morris' designs. This was created during a William Morris page layout design workshop hosted by my calligraphy guild.

I have a few more projects to post when I'm less tired, but then I'll have to start planning new projects.

Happy crafting!

Check out this BEAUTIFUL and detailed stamp that Wulf sent to me.
He combined my themes of cute, animals, and Victorian.
I'll be using this on the next round of letters I write!

Look at these lovely ampersands from Jexxican!
They go well with my collection of letterpress sorts and alphabet stamps.

Loving the gallery so far!

Check out the awesomeness sent to me by Myrdda!

There's so much awesome, I don't even know where to begin!

custom drinking glasses: One with a silhouette of Sailor Moon mid-transformation, and the other with a quote from The Princess Bride
Animal Crossing new-leaf shoulder bag - I hope there will be enough room for my net, watering can, fishing rod and shovel!
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy needle book with bonus needles! I included shots of each of the pages so you can geek out over all of the references like I am currently doing.
BONUS: delicious smelling soaps that I am temped to eat. One is a chocolate and vanilla cake scent, and the second is chai spice <3

Thank you for everything!!!

Its been a crafty weekend over here at chez elyxandra!

I completed my first two snowpeople (I have enough crew socks to make 12) and I think they turned out oh so cute! I received a sock snowman in a swap a while back and have been wanting to make some ever since.

I also made my first floating necklace from supplies and instructions I received in a zine swap in 2012.

Now I need to get to work on some craft-swap items, which won't be posted for a while.

Beautiful scarf pollyprissypants - the colours remind me of spring.

I made this necklace based on the washi tape bracelet in the current issue of Cloth Paper Scissors. I have a large stash of washi tape and it was the perfect excuse to use some of it.

I made the pendant last Sunday while watching the golden globes, but needed to wait until I could get to the craft store for the gold coloured jump rings and chain.

Can anyone recommend a coating for it? It's just washi tape on metal with some gold leaf pen on the edges, and I'm worried the tape will begin to lift.

While I was out I also picked up some supplies for a few other projects I have planned, so don't be surprised if I post again soon!

I completed my first project of 2014!

I pinned this tutorial and bought the supplies about a year ago, but never got around to making it. I found the package of silver rings during my craft room reorganization, and decided it would be the perfect project to start off the year.

It doesn't take very long once you master the square knot - I made mine while watching two subtitled episode of Sailor Moon (so less than 50 minutes including measuring the cord, and looking for my needles and pliers to finish the knotting). I chose a purple cord, which looks darker in the photos.

And here is the link to the tutorial for anyone interested in making one for themselves.

I love the look of the different charms and colours of cords - I'd like to make a wrist-full of them, so I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for interesting charms!
