So I engaged in a Facebook craft swap with a few people one of which is a super crafter so it took me awhile to think something up to make. Eventually I decided on creating some Roller Derby themed stuff since she's a member of a roller derby team and came up with some slightly modified drawings I googled, doodled them down on some cardstock and cut away then mounted them on a canvas.

The first one (she has a pug) came out the best, the others have some warping to them I'm guessing because I went a little crazy on the modge podge. I hope she likes 'em!

It's my first time doing something like that though and I think that I may evenutally do it again and get a little more elaborate on the cutting.

A few weeks ago I was having a particularly bad day, so I decided to run out to the craft store, pick up some black poster board and decided to create a new Halloween scene for the window. It was only now on Halloween that I remembered to take a photo of it. I'm thinking that when I take it down I might matt the zombie part of it and frame it as a decoration for next year, otherwise it'll never survive storage.

I'm really starting to love knitting lace, it keeps me engaged and interested in the project and well it just ends up looking pretty and far more complicated that it was to make. I did mess up in two different spots, but I'm pretty happy with the overall results, even making another longer one eventually as I ran out of yarn for this one.

So I attempted to knit the 12 foot long Fourth Doctor scarf from Doctor Who, but I keep getting distracted and bored with continuous stockinette. The NYCC is right around the corner though and I wanted something to display my Whovian-ness. So I created the mitts and a mini bowtie pin to wear.



I'm still trying to think of something to knit/crochet for the 10th doctor as I'm trying to have some sort of representation for my three favorite Doctors. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I ended up turning one of my friends into a Whovian so I thought it befitting that for her birthday that I should create some Doctor Who themed item. So after being inspired from seeing a TARDIS card that someone posted to reddit, I decided to take a stab at making my own version. There are a few mess ups, as it has been quite sometime since I've done something like this, but I think it came out okay.

I signed up for a Facebook handmade swap a little while back, where you have to make something handmade and swap it before the end of 2012. So I figured that this would be a fun time to try some firsts in knitting and other crafts and after looking about on Ravelry, I found the December is for Stephanie pattern and decided to give it a go. It was a fun and pretty easy lace pattern, but I did mess up on the motif once due to the Angel marathon I knit it to, but the diamond pattern part ended up looking like heart, so it kinda worked out.

This was also my first time ever blocking a project, it seemed rather daunting at first, but it went semi smoothly and uncurled some kinks and showed off the pattern nicely. Definitely something I'll have to keep doing in the future.

Anyhoo, here's the finished project:

I recently made my first pair of adult socks and wasn't all to thrilled with the process as many have said, but I thought what the hey, why not try once more. So as a part of my birthday present for my niece I made her a wee pair of socks for her (she turned 2 the other day)!

I followed a pattern off of Ravelry and combined a lace motif from another pattern to create her socks. After opening the present she wanted to put them on right away, but since they were made from Cascade wool and they had slippery floors there were a few fall downs, but all was good. I think this may become a tradition...




Oh I also made her and my nephew a pair of mittens (along with fingerless gloves, have become my new knitting crack!), I remembered to take a photo her completed ones, but forgot to do so for my nephew's pair as I finished them in the wee hours of morning.
