1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Checked DT clutch on: February 17, 2010 09:57:22 AM
I wanted to get back into my duct tape crafting after I found rolls of tape in my closet. I decided to start with something simple, so I made a woven clutch.

I used funky flamingo pink tape for the base, and pink and chrome tape for the woven checks. I secured the top flap to the base using three pieces of velcro.

Thanks for looking!
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Molly, my puppet. on: October 22, 2008 06:22:09 PM
So, by way of introduction, I'd just like to say that I've never really sewn anything before. I've also never made a puppet that was more than a paper bag. This was my first shot. It's a muppet-inspired puppet that I call Molly.

She's made out of a foam ball, and old shirt, a baby shirt, felt, yarn, glue, and a wooden skewer to control the arm.

Thoughts?
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Spice Girls swap? on: July 14, 2007 11:59:06 PM
Come on. We all know that the Spice Girls are just awesome. How about a swap to show the love for our favorite 90's group?

Viva la reunion!

5  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Best recipes for strawberries? on: May 23, 2007 04:54:18 PM
I just bought some strawberries, and they're ripe to the point that they're going to go bad soon. I really want to use them, but for more than just eating strawberries. I've already baked some strawberry banana bread. Any suggestions?
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New to the jewelry arena... on: May 22, 2007 08:55:01 PM
So I've been fooling around with the craft wire and some beads. I think I might be sliiiiightly addicted. Just what I need: another craft I can't put down!

It's really hard to get a decent picture of jewelry. All of my silver wire looks slightly pink, but it's really not.

Any comments are appreciated!
7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Wicked Round 2 (Signups CLOSED - Sendouts 6/2) on: April 13, 2007 01:57:50 PM
Swap name: Wicked Swap round 2
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: DTchick
Sign-up date range: 13 April- 4 May
Date to send item by: 2 June

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): No.

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No.
If so, which country? N/A

All ages allowed? Or 18+? Everyone is allowed, but ask your parents if you think it applies.

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: NO
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES

Details of swap:

This swap is dedicated to the wonderful book “Wicked” by Gregory Maguire, and/or the musical of the same name. Each participant should send at least one large and two smaller items to their partner. If you wish to send something more or less, communicate with your partner to work things out so that everything is fair.

I will try to pair partners by who has seen/read which version of Wicked.

During the course of the swap, I expect the members to post in the swap thread at least twice: once after the partners are posted, and once around the time of send-outs. This won’t be recorded in your profile; it just makes me feel better that nobody will flake if there is good communication throughout the swap.

Things happen: if for any reason you need an extension, please let me and your partner know via PM. That way I will know that you are not flaking and you will not receive negative feedback.

Part of the fun in swapping is seeing everyone’s loot. If you do not have access to a camera, let your partner know BEFORE they send so that they can take pictures before sending out.

Hopefully by now you’ve sensed that I’m a bit paranoid about flaking. I don’t wish it on anyone, and I’d rather not have to go through the Angeling process. I think that if we all abide to the rules outlined above, the swap will run smoothly and efficiently.

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Bones swap Round 4 on: February 01, 2007 02:18:00 PM
I've already searched the boards, and I've found nothing like this. if I'm wrong, please let me know.

The theme for this swap would be the TV show "Bones". I know there has to be a ton of other crafty folks that love this show. Think of the possibilities!

Anyone interested?
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Wicked swap 2? on: October 11, 2006 06:30:22 PM
Would anyone be interested in doing a Wicked swap again? Wicked being the musical/book, not the adjective.

The last swap was a bunch of fun, and I'm hoping there's enough interest in another round!
