11  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by DTchick on: July 09, 2006 07:03:54 PM
I just got my hair permed a few weeks ago, and now I have picture proof. All my friends are jealous. They like my curls. It took roughly 4 1/2 hours.

By the end of the day, though, it's a bit flat. What can I put in my hair that won't make it crunchy, but will hold the curl well?

You could make some duct tape wrist cuffs. They're pretty easy to make. I've made ones like:

My friends really like them, and they're teens. Let me know if you want to do these and want help.

14  Wicked pants...version 2.0 in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by DTchick on: June 20, 2006 08:27:53 PM
Just so you know, I know I posted something like this a while back. I'm not loony. I noticed everyone posting Wicked things lately, and decided to post these. I made these pants in honor of the fact that I was going to see Wicked on tour in Atlanta. I liked my old pants, but not well enough to stop me from making more. I used smaller brushes so the words would be smaller and I could have more quotes. I used plain acryllic paint and went at it with the Wicked lyric book and whatever quotes I could remember from the musical. I left space for more after I saw the show...but I unfortunately didn't get to see the second half. That's enough about the pants, so here they are:

The entire "Unlimited" glows!

My favorite detail: The FLYTING MONKEYS.

Here's the complete list of quotes (because I know you're sooo interested...):
"I don't cause commotions- I am one."
"Life's more painless for the brainless."
"Be yourself...within reason."
"Wishing only wounds the heart."
"Y'know black is this year's PINK."
"We're just two friends..."
"Together we're UNLIMITED."
"Something has changed within me; something is not the same."
"Are people born wicked or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?"
"She's tragically beautiful, and I'm beautifully tragic."
"I hope you're happy."
"...and if I'm flying solo, at least I'm flying free!"
"It's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes, and leap. It's time to try DEFYING GRAVITY."
"Because I knew you, I have been changed for good."
"You'll be POPULAR  just not quite as popular as me!"

Thanks for looking!

15  Re: Rent Swap - Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by DTchick on: June 19, 2006 05:35:01 PM
I received my package from Whiskey last Thursday, but didn't open it until today. I'm in love with everything she sent, totally in love. Sory in advance for the poor quality of the pictures. I can't work my camera very well...and I've had it since December.

Groupshot. She sent a beautifully etched jar, 2 etched plates, a tote bag, a wooden box, anda set of marble magnets and pins.

Other side of the bag:

The plates. One has a picture of Mimi and says "Wanna wail at the moon like a cat in heat-Out Tonight." The other has a picture of Maureen and says "There will always be women in rubber flirting with me." One of my favourite lines ever. EVER.

The wooden box. The top is purple and has a group shot of the cast of the Rent movie. The base is red and says "To being an us for once instead of a them." around it.

The jar. I only took one picture of it. This side has the Rent logo, and the other sides say "Over the Moon" "Out Tonight" and "La Vie Boheme".

The magnets and pins are already on my bulletin board that was in desperate need of a cleaning up anyway. I couldn't get a close up on any of them to save my life.

Side note: That cow in the bottom right is a sketch of a shirt that I made that says "Only things to do is jump over the moon.

Once again....love. I can't express it.  I feel totally spoiled. I hope you like my things, Whiskey. You're amazing.

16  RENT T-shirts + 1 new shirt! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by DTchick on: February 21, 2006 01:18:08 PM
In honor of the Great Release happening today, my friend and I got together to make some T-shirts. I only have pictures of mine.
'Only thing to do is jump over the moon'

RENT- No day but Today

The stars on the Over the Moon shirt glow! Sweet. I hope you like my Elsie.

EDIT: I got a different picture of the second shirt...it looks better. And! I would like to add another shirt....

Mimi, Benny, Maureen, Collins

Roger, Joanne, Angel, Mark.

That one took me a while. I'm not exactly a great painter, but I tried pretty hard to get all of the characters in there. The amazing part- I only had 4 or 5 colors to work with. I know none of them have hands or feet....give me a while. And if you're wondering whats on the top corner of the first picture of '525,600', it's my piccolo.

17  Re: The Art of Makeup in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by DTchick on: February 16, 2006 05:30:19 PM
I love this thread! So inspiring. I love to mess with eye makeup. Love. So...here are some pictures...

And this last one is kinda weird looking. My parents made me take a picture before I got my braces off, and I was wearing red eyeliner at the time.

Please keep in mind that the majority of these pictures were taken in the morning- my face isn't really that screwed up.  Wink

I posted a few pages back when I got my hair cut. It wasn't drastic- just a few inches. But ever since I got my hair cut, I wake up like this:

excuse y morning face  Undecided
My hair is now really wavy/curly. I've never ever had hair like this and I was wondering if someone could tell me how to keep it curly without looking messy. Whenever I brush it, it gets bushy. Oh! And the back of my hair doesn't do that. So...I'm stuck?

It's hard to get a decent shot of the back of your own head. Sorry.
