6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Matilda Jane inspired Dress on: May 21, 2009 01:28:19 PM
yay!! This finally fits her!! I am excited to finally post this! I made this with no pattern.. I just cut strips and a bodice and just sewed to my hearts content. I made a bonus reversible headband to match. I love Matilda Jane and I have been trying to make my own similar items because I have tons of fabric.. and why would I want to pay the $$$ when I have an imagination and the supplies? So here is Everleigh modeling her digs:

7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Creative Sewing Solutions Ruffler Foot Grrrr..... on: May 20, 2009 01:52:48 PM
So I have been sewing for 11 years now and consider myself an advanced seamstress... I bought the Creative Sewing Solutions Ruffler Foot and I even went to watch the product demonstration on thier site.

My top thread keeps bunching up multiple times in my bobbin case area and I can just f*cking scream!!! I have been through all the settings and tension on both my machine AND the damn ruffler foot and I can not find out what is wrong. I tried running it without fabric so i can see what is going on down there and it ran just fine... no bunching of the top thread... but the secong I slip the fabric into the ruffler foot all hell breaks loose and I just want to f*cking kick my dog!! (metaphorically.. My dog is safely with my mother) I am using simple cotton fabric.

Has anyone else had these problems with this and does anyone have an answer to my problems? I just want a damn ruffle folks! If I can't figure this out... I guess i will have to do it the old fashioned way.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Sweatpants into a tanktop on: May 15, 2009 03:01:49 PM
Since I can't craft for awhile I might as well catch up on posting some of the goods I have made in the past couple months:

So I had to cut some sweatpants into capri's so I used the bottoms for this!! I just cut a strip of houndstooth fabric for the band and I used biased tape for the straps.

I can't wait to start sewing again! I saw Vegbee's posts and Etsy stuff and I am stoked. I have to wait until my hand is better Sad
10  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / .:`:. The Princess and the Frog .:`:. on: April 17, 2009 08:52:12 AM
So my best pal likes her nails short (booooooo!!!) so I had to do something fun and she has a 3 year old little girl. With the Princess and the Frog movie coming out I had an idea:

I used pink Mylars for the nails and then I sculpted the nail acrylic to make the princess and the frog:
