As a last resort you could bake him cookies...hey, any guy appreciates food. You could even frost them with a superman S.

hey yeah, i agree with the cookie thing.
usually, my boyfriend just bakes up a huge batch of cookies before christmas break and hands them out to people at school. that way everyone gets one so no one feels singled out or left out, and its not too personal to be weird.

but, you could personalize the ones you're giving to your better friends, which could include the guy you're talkin about.

Absolutely adorable! That includes the way you presented your dres LOLLLLLL! You are a cute hoot!
Moni

=D thank youuuu!

It makes me think barbie! I  love it the pink, the polka dots, the frill! Wonderful!

one of my springboards for the idea was sort of the classic, 50s house wife shape. or maybe i just liked those kinds of dresses with the sash tied around the waist :]

well, our one year is coming up on the 11th and then there's christmas..

i'm gonna make him a moustache kit, just because it'd be friggin' awesome. i'm gonna make lotsa different 'staches out of paper or cardstock or something and put 'em in a box with a roll of tape so he can stick him under his nose. he'd get a kick out of it Smiley

i'm also thinkin' of making him some furry boxers.
and then there will be the obligatory 3 pound bag of skittles, maybe some goldfish.
maybe i'll also get a nice frame and decorate it kiddie-style w/ macaroni and such and put a picture of us.
perhaps i'll also make him a tie!

bwaaahahahahaha.

thanks everyone =)

Very nice! I'm trying to make a dress along the lines of yours, but I'm not sure where to start. Tutorial?

Tali x

[Haha yes, I am a tutorial whore. xD]

ahh, well it really isn't that difficult. i based it off of imnotasuperhero's sundress, what with the four panels and such. i made one dress using the polka dot fabric, and another using the pink fabric and sewed them together at the top of the dresses. then you add straps and trim and voila! oh, and the pink piece at my waist is just a length of pink fabric that i tied around to the back.

That's an awesome dress!  I love polka dots.  about your boots, did you embroider them?  I could kind of see some detail in one of the pictures but not enough to be able to tell.

oh heavens me, no! i bought my boots at a shop in chinatown, ny. they're probably imported or something, the size was in chinese sizes. they look like converses, but obviously, they're not =) you can see them better here and here.

so do you resize the sleeves or just cut them?  just wondering, cause it seems like if you just opened up the neck real big like that, would/do the sleeves fall down or stay up like that?

well, i'm not TERRIBLY sure what you're asking, but i think i do..
they do fall down, but not a whole lot. i sort of like it when they do, but depending on what i'm doing, they CAN get annoying. i safety pin them to be a tad smaller at the seam on the top, just because i can be a bit of a safety pin whore.

depending on how much you can fill out the rest of the shirt and/or how far down it's pulled down, though, i don't think the sleeves would fall so much.

One idea that I had as a boyfriend gift that I never actually did do was to get him a pair or pants and screenprint me winking at him or making some kind of nerdy flirty face ON THE INSIDE of the pants, like near the fly. lol. Then I figured his mom would wonder when doing the laundry...

HAHAHAHA that is GOLDEN!
i'm so doing that for next present.. good thing he does his own laundry =D
