1  UNITED STATES / Nebraska / lys in omaha on: November 08, 2006 11:49:07 AM
Hello People from Nebraska!
I'm going out to Omaha to interview soon and I'm thinking of moving there for the next four years.  I'm flying out and will have some time to check out the city and of course I was wondering if they have some cool yarn stores downtown or at least crafty stores.  I was wondering if there are any cool stores nearby if not downtown.  Oh and while I'm at it I'm looking for a good restaurant that says "here is what omaha steak really tastes like".
Thanks.
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / iron on crayons on: June 10, 2006 02:34:16 PM
I was wondering if anyone has used those crayons that from what i understand you color on a piece of paper and then iron onto fabric? I saw them today at Michael's and could not figure them out and i could not tell if they would really work that well.
3  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 10 ENTRIES / Spring is in the air! on: April 04, 2006 03:40:31 PM
Wow this is my first completed project and my first time finallllllllly learning how to upload pictures and all that jazz.  When i saw the contest I was like WOW my new shoes would be great to enter.  Basically I was tired of these old Old Navy balletish shoes that were just plain black.  I wanted something like all of those new flats out in the stores that would get me excited for spring.  Hopefully you will be able to see the following pictures of before and after:

All i did was use some embroidery thread that I had and just free handed a design.  The hardest part was making the second shoe look exactly like the first shoe.  I should have taken a picture of hte needle i used because it was completely bent when i was finished.  But alas i will be happy if these pictures show up.

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / hesitant about this quilt pattern on: January 24, 2006 04:55:31 AM
I'm new to quilting having just learned the basics in my fiber arts class and i have been looking for an easy pattern that was also not very traditional.  I was just wondering if anyone has tried this pattern and if they have any advice before i get started:  http://www.quilting-arts-forum.com/bom8_8.html     This pattern looks like fun, although i'm a little hesitant to do it as my first quilt--maybe i should mention that this quilt is going to be for my brother and his fiance as their wedding gift.  I'm looking for any suggestions.  Thanks!
