2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Postage Stamp Square Swap GALLERY on: July 16, 2008 12:52:46 PM
Angela - that 3rd picture (the one with the airplane) shows the squares I sent you for a swap-bot swap, not craftster!  Though I can easily see how you'd get it mixed up, since the swaps so similar, and this one had so many people - yikes!   Smiley

I had three multi-partner craftster swaps end at the same time as well as starting to receive for the swap bot swap.  It's a lot to keep up wtih.

I have oficially received from everyone.  thanks everyone for all of the lovely little squares.  I am triple loving all of the retro and whimsical prints.  It will be fun to someday sit with my niece and play I spy.  I do have a suggestion for everyone for future multi-partner swaps.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE write your craftster name on the outside of the envelope and on the inside, it makes life much easier on the other end.

here are the pics of my favorites from each group

first up is Audrey1999 we traded an aditional 200

My quilt isn't scrappy and I prefer the more traditional squares too.  I think it was Homer who was asking, but I had a ton of posts to read LOL  I am so excited for this and hope that people will be able to work with my prints.  Thanks for the math too, that will help me tons!

Don't worry too much about the prints working.  Have you seen the gallery from the summer round?  there are some blocks with prints that I thought would never work together, but as it turns out they are some of my favorites!

How did other pple go about buying/cutting their fabric?  One of the swappers, CaroDIYnamite, asked me about picking fabric out.  I used those fat quarter sets I had and then some yardage that I already had, so I'm not sure Shocked  How much fabric did people buy?  MissDisney for example, how much did you buy last swap? Anyone else?

what I did was buy what I normally would buy for  quilt and divided it up.  BUT, I did not send enough, not thinking the person on the other end wouldn't have enough for any errors.  Since I'm going scrapy this time I'm not buying any fabric and am going to send enough for people to really play around with.  I don't know if that really answers your question but that's how I'm doing it this time.

I'm so excited to see this starting up again!  I have been following along with Swap II and I'm itching to get involved.  I've PM'ed my info and I'm waiting to see if I made it in time!  Is everyone open to having a male group member?    Wink

heck yeah!!  having a male group member is gonna rock!!!  I can't wait to see what you have to offer to the group

and here is my last square for MissDisney (we agreed she could send her fabric with my completed block so she could save the postage)

I did this with traditional piecing, next time I am going to do paper piecing because there are SOOO many spots where you have to get everything just so.

I think I've come up with the two blocks (one for each group) I want to use for this swap.  I have 3 days off of work and I plan to sew until there is smoke coming out of my sewing machine (or I run out of thread, whatever happens first).
