11  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Bettie Page for Carlotta on: December 16, 2005 04:52:19 PM
I made this one for my friend carlo's birthday, the picture was kind of complicated to make into a stencil, alot of photoshop'n and a bridge for the dot of the 'i'. but i wanted to use this pic because it's one i knew she liked, plus searching for a better decent bettie pic's kinda hard, since she's a pin-up pioneer and all. Wink happy with the stencil, except there's overspray and when i touched it up i kinda over-correccted it so there's some blotches which kinda sucks. hope she likes it Smiley
12  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / web design help: how to do inventory!?! on: September 29, 2005 06:35:29 PM
EDIT: how do i list all the items on my page neatly? it seems like it is all done with scripts, like how you can search for 'blue' in a search bar at a shop and all blue items will appear in the same format as all the given catagories (like a 'handbags' section)... i'm awful at explaining... but like plainmabel.com??

14  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / FREE stencil Computer Software? downloads? on: April 19, 2005 04:29:49 PM
we just got a dell, and all our fancy programs are on the old virused-up computer, and we're slobs so we don't know where the CDs are. so basically i've got MsPaint. I've used it to make one stencil, saving it as like a 16 bit and editing the smack out of it. but i got lucky on that one. I used to have this awesome Photoshop trial version, you could do just about anything, just not save/copy it (hello Print Screen) and it lasted forever but can't find anything  of those. only the '30 day trial' stuff.
anyways, anybody know of any free software i could get? with good stencil-making features? <b>THANK YOU!</b>

16  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / H E L P: Bridges With Spray Paint!? on SHIRT on: March 05, 2005 06:01:33 PM
Hey, i was wondering if any of you have made bridges with spray paint that you fixed up later. i'm not sure i could do this with spray paint, because it would overlap. i've been working on this stencil for a while and there really is no convienent place to put a bridge that i COULDN'T fix later(like sneaking a little white inbetween the lines and leaving it), because the outlines are so thick.see how his face in encircled in hair and a chin-shadow.

sorry for going on, any suggestions??? THANK YOU Smiley this shirt's really important to me.

EDIT:

thanks geewhiz Smiley here's a pic.the white is the paper and the black in what i am going to cut out. see how his face would not be connected? usually i'd just put a bridge there and fix it up afterwards, but can you do this with spray paint(on fabric)?
17  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / QUEEN - bohemian rhapsody jacket on: January 23, 2005 05:17:59 PM
this is my first post of something i actually did, because i don't have a camera of my own, my sister took these for me Smiley
just used your regular stencil (printed, lamenated and cut out), generic fabric paint. and a $1.50 hoodie. It only took about half a day Cheesy The hardest part was positioning it, it kept being crooked or not centered, and when it was the stencil wouldn't lay down flat cause it would have a wrinkle.

Close-up so you can see all the faults Cheesy i changed little things, and i had to fix freddie's upper lip and the other guy's eye with a sharpee.

the final product. it looks like there's a lot of extra space, but when it wraps around the body, and the hood hands down, it's alright.

the original image
I'm really happy with how it turned out, thanks for looking!

18  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / RECYCLING?? recylce your own paper? maybe machete? on: January 07, 2005 04:31:54 PM
I would like to be able to recycle my own paper, as long as there is a way it doesn't have to be anything fancy. i know you can make a cool paper 'machete' with flour, a pinch of salt and newspaper/napkins.
and basically any thing you think is neat that you can do with old paper would be apperciated! Cheesy
 thank you!
19  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / i got a SEWING MACHINE... projects? on: December 31, 2004 11:23:55 AM
i've been so used to sewing by hand, i'd always skip over all the sewing machine projects, so i was wondering if you guys had any great or easy stuff i could do. I'm also not too sure what this baby is capable of, so any cool tricks and stuff that you can do with a sewing machine are cool too Cheesy
20  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / CHRISTMAS: idea for 36 yr old brother :\ HELP!?! on: December 22, 2004 06:01:22 PM
help, my brother asked me to make him something for christmas and i can't think of what. He's a chemist and he's pretty down-to-earth, he's funny, and kinda OCD (Obsessive Complusive) Wink, he was into OZZY back in the day and football. He's one of those people who has just about everything, and i don't like making home apparel for people, because everyone has thier own taste.

  thank you in advance Cheesy
