1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Reconstructed chicken art :) on: September 11, 2016 02:56:30 PM

Years ago I picked up a Super 80's Country Decor piece at a garage sale with the intent of scabbing off the bits for other projects....well that never happened, it just sat in the bottom of a tote waiting for rediscovery Smiley

This weekend I came across it again, ripped off a chicken and painted it up. I used some (more) vintage trim to cover the backer board of a picture frame and secured the wooden chicken. I think it will make a nice addition to the chicken barn Smiley
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Children's Chore Chart on: September 05, 2016 11:20:35 AM
Hi. My name is Erin and I am addicted to vintage trims......

And as such I am always looking for ways to use them so I can enjoy them on a day to day basis Smiley

My young boys are now at the age that we have officially introduced the concept of weekly chores over and above the general 'clean up after yourself' rule. As an excuse to use some vintage trim and to feed my obsessive need for order, I whipped up this basic chore chart. I like the simplicity of it Smiley

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Mini-Shadow Box on: March 14, 2016 05:53:03 PM

The last three years have been a bit of a whirlwind; Our family grew by 3 amazing boys, a couple of promotions and moved a farm back across the province - all to say that crafting was on the back burner for the last little while.  Last week it struck me how much I miss it - even more so now that I am the mom of BUSY kids.

I set to claiming one of our smaller barns as a mini crafting retreat (place to drink wine without children) - and set to work.  Here is my first project, it is small - only 5x7, only took a couple of hours but I was surprised how my enjoyed using my hands again.  My mind has been whirring ever since and my project list is growing by the day.  I will even have to dig out my gnome house I began 3+ years ago. Wink
