11  Re: Shop the Swap - Round 11 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Happychick on: January 31, 2008 05:58:12 PM

My house is pet & smoke free!

2 pt items:

Approx. 520m/568yds white cashcotton, divided into two whole balls of 130m/142yds each, and four smaller balls. Not an expert on dying, but I'd imagine it'd be good for that kind of thing...

35% Cotton, 25% polyamide, 18% angora, 13% viscose, 9% cashmere (2pts)

Green felted-bead bracelet (2pts)

1pt items:

Purple and red glass bead bracelet. Fits my 6.5'' wrist well, with a little room (1pts)

Grey cabled neckwarmer, knitted from a 30% wool, 70% acrylic blend. It has no buttons for the time being, so I can add them according to taste

Birdie embroidery. I can make it into something small, (pouch or cuff maybe?) or you can have it as is as a patch. For more points (negotiable!) i could make it a feature on a bag or something. About 3'' end to end (1pt)

Custom-made shop banner or forum avatar, anything goes as long as I can find images for it! (1pt)

1/2 pt items

Earrings! All 1/2 pt per pair, remember to specify which in your claim PM

Swimming(?) badges. I found these in a charity shop, and although I've kept some of my favourites, there are far too many for me! (1/2 pt the lot)

Lot of crochet flowers, circles and one granny-square. These were my practise, so they may not be perfect... (1/2 pt the lot)

Felt patches. Robot & random embroidery. (1/2 pt each)

Hi! I'm thinking of listing some felted bead jewelery along these lines (probably next round now)

What do you think in terms of pricing? It's fairly simple, but it takes quite a while to felt the beads... 1pt seems too low, and 2pts too high! I'll do some earrings too, they'll definately be 1pt, and maybe a necklace which will definately be 2pts, but the bracelets have me stumped...

14  Unflattering school shirt ----> Puff-sleeved prettiness in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Happychick on: January 08, 2008 08:14:00 AM
Tada!

I finally decided to actually do something about the hideously unflattering school shirts I've had inflicted on me for the best part of five years. It is impossible to find flattering fitted blouses in the sky blue required for my uniform. I did consider dying a white one, but... maybe another day.

Happychick's bedlam boutique - OPEN!

I'm in the UK, but all my crafts are pet hair and icky smoke smell free.

One Point Items

Franken-ties, mixture of polyester and silk. Not as bumply as they look in the photo, either! (1pt each)

Set of 4 criss-cross coasters, made with cotton, some of which in nigerian tie-dye (1pt)

Half point items

AAaalll these cards. Seriously, don't want them. Infact, I'll throw them in free with any other order, if you want them. Or some of them. All good. [1/2 pt]

Xmas tree decorations! 1/2 point each, or all three for one point. Specify which you want when you order pleeease. [1/2 pt or 3 for 1 pt]

A union flag belt. Double sided, closes with a D-ring. Fits my 33' hips perfectly [1/2 pt]

Happychick's shop

All my crafts are pet-hair and smoke free.

(1/2 point)

All the cards are 3 for 1/2 a point. Apologies for the terrible pictures, they were very difficult to photograph.

if you can't see...
# 4 says 'best wishes' on the middle ribbon
# 5 has sequins trapped behind gauze - so they shake around
# 6, the really broad ribbon has a print of (what else) ribbons on it!

Jewellery:

1: Felt broach with apple button (1/2 point) Sold!
2: Crystal and faux pearl earrings, Stainless steel hooks. (1/2 point)
3: Jump-ring and turquoise earrings, Stainless steel hooks (1/2 point)

'primitive' Christmas tree ornaments. (1/2 point each) (1, 2 & 3 all available) The felt they're made of came from a remnants bin, but it does feel like it's got some natural fibres.

(1 point)

Frankenties - These are three charity shop ties which I gutted, then stitched back together into two more interesting ties. They're nowhere near as bumply as they look in the photo. One of the ties was a silk blend, the other two were polyester, but don't ask me which bits are which! (1pt each, please specify left or right)

Union flag belt to fit a size small. (aprox. 90cm)

4 criss-cross-coasters, in a silk blend, and tie-dyed cotton (1 point)

Thanks for looking!

xx

It's a beautiful picture, I hope you don't mind, but I couldn't resist playing with it too Grin

19  Re: Harry Potter Craftalong!!! in Craftalongs by Happychick on: July 21, 2007 02:57:42 AM
I have to confess : My grand plans for knitting jumpers for my brother and I... fell through >___< But! I was there at midnight, in my luna-ey finery, and the radish earrings, wand and cloak at least were handmade. The girls behind me in the queue /got/ the radishes, but a couple of boys who walked past actually stopped and pointed! I felt wonderfully eccentric, they were the only bit of my costume that you could really see, owing to the (very sexy Wink and very necessary) rain-macs that the Waterstones staff were handing out.

Hey, there seems only to be a scarf knitalong, so i thought i'd post this here - I'm knitting a slytherin school jumper for my little brother, and a 'casual' ravenclaw jumper for myself for the book launch. I thought a casual sweater would be more something i'd be more likely wear more than once, and I didn't particularly want to wear robes (I'm dressing up as luna, and my brother will be malfoy/an unspecified slytherin.)
