11  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / felting newbie: Needle felting is so tiring! on: May 17, 2013 04:05:33 AM
I recently tried needle felting for the first time and winged it  Wink

it turned out ok, except i have to say alot of effort goes into these things!
I only made a small figure and it literally took a full 5 hours to do.
My arm was sooooo tired by the end of it.

How do you get through needle felting a project without ending up with arms like Popeye?
... im right handed, ... so more like a lopesided Popeye  Cheesy

There is a UK magazine that is pretty good for mixed crafts.
Its called Mollie Makes, quite modern and targets the younger folk.

18  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Traumatic sewing accident in my class today on: May 17, 2013 01:50:37 AM
^ thats a scary story!

i also had a machine needle go through when i was 12 at school.
i was threading a machine for another student and she stepped on the foot pedal. Somehow i had my finder in there to pullout the bobbin thread.

She was not even a friend! i think she cried more than i did.

The teacher took me to hospital to have it removed and x-rayed to check it didnt hit any bone.
Also had to get a tetanus shot.

... i never did finish that t-shirt...
