Here's a couple of pages that I've been working on for a while now but only just got round to finishing...
This is my list of beautiful things. The list is lace, butterflies, birds, parasols, stained glass, lakes, kimonos, ice, fairy lights, Jerusalem, surfing, beads, early morning light, art, life, friendship, sacrifice, the beach, sunshine, amber, gloworms, fire, shiny things, balloons, music, Wales, watercolours, irises (as in the eye, not the flower), forests, snow, the sky, cherry blossoms, love, sunrises, stars, the sea, flowers, sunsets, and leaves.
I haven't posted any pages for quite a while (for various reasons), so here's some new ones...
This is a poem that my boyfriend wrote that I just wanted to write down in a nice-looking way. If anyone's that interested I can copy the poem on here too.
I have some pretty serious fear issues - scared of my own imagination. But it shouldn't work like that, and that's what I was trying to convince myself when I worked on this. Oh, and that background is stamped, not painted or drawn or printed.
This page commemorates my granddad, who died on 2nd November 2009. The page is stuffed full of symbolism and memories. He was one of the most wonderful people I've ever met.
I was watching 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat'
A while ago I said that I was going to post some more pictures of what I've done, and now I'm only just getting round to it!
Blue page. I'm not too keen on this. It just doesn't feel right.
This is one of my favourite pages. I made it after running out of fuel in my car while driving back from lectures one day. It says... 'What I learnt about my car on 1st June. 1. The car is never full or empty. The fuel gauge never shows the tank as completely full or completely empty 2. Always buy fuel no matter how expensive it is! 3. Look at all the options before making a decision like realising that, although it's 12 miles forward to the next petrol station, it's only 1 mile to the last one (the italic bits are just further explanation for you guys ) I drew the flowers in my notebook while I was waiting for the breakdown people to arrive.
This is my first try at zentangles. I just doodled it on and off over a few days.
"My Secret Garden... shhh!!!" Done using stamps and some advertising cards for some student textile designers.
This is my other favourite page so far. The second picture is just to show where the 'Delicate' tag should go. The writing says 'I had no idea what I was going to do... and wasted no time making a start.' It comes from one of Mr X Stitch's blog posts, and I used it because I just found lots of black, white and grey things that I wanted to use but I didn't really know what I was doing! The whited out bit has my address on it that I saved from a swap envelope in nice writing.
Hopefully I'll put something else up soon - currently I'm working on a rainbow page!
