33  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: Halloween Popcorn Hands on: October 29, 2012 10:34:54 AM
That's a good idea Cheesy  That would really make it Halloween-y!

I forgot about these! One of our neighbors used to give them to us when we were kids! She would put one of those little plastic spiders rings on one of the fingers too! Smiley
34  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween Popcorn Hands on: October 28, 2012 03:30:39 PM
I used to give Halloween popcorn hands to my teachers when I was young.  They are fun to put together and pretty easy.

Ingredients and Supplies:
  • Popcorn of Choice (When I was young, we just poped plain popcorn, this time I used Kettle Corn)
  • Candy Corn
  • Plain Gloves like those shown (I had a hard time finding the kind I wanted.  I ended up finding them at Daiso.  You don't want any coating on the inside, and you want them to be clear.)
  • Ties (either twist ties, string, yarn, etc.)

Directions can be found here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Halloween-Popcorn-Hands/

38  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / "I am the Shadow" - Oogie Boogie Cross Stitch on: October 23, 2012 03:14:22 PM
Just a fun little cross stitch inspired by the awesome Nightmare Before Christmas.  It is from the opening song "This is Halloween".  These are Oogie Boogie's lines from that song.  It is all done in white embroidery floss on black 14 count aida fabric.

I made up the pattern and share it here: http://www.instructables.com/id/I-am-the-Shadow-Oogie-Boogie-Cross-Stitch/

39  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Easy Homemade Carbonara on: October 22, 2012 01:06:12 PM
I agree!  I had some left over and had to nuke it and it was still delicious!

Folks say you can't have leftover carbonara, but I just nuke it and eat it "scrambled". It's still DARNED TASTY!
40  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Easy Homemade Carbonara on: October 16, 2012 06:05:45 PM
I absolutely love carbonara!  I always assumed it was just alfredo, peas and bacon, but it it so much better than that!  It has a egg sauce that is simply wonderful.

You can check out the recipe here:  http://www.instructables.com/id/Homemade-Carbonara/
