21  "I am the Shadow" - Oogie Boogie Cross Stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by PenolopyBulnick on: October 23, 2012 03:14:22 PM
Just a fun little cross stitch inspired by the awesome Nightmare Before Christmas.  It is from the opening song "This is Halloween".  These are Oogie Boogie's lines from that song.  It is all done in white embroidery floss on black 14 count aida fabric.

I made up the pattern and share it here: http://www.instructables.com/id/I-am-the-Shadow-Oogie-Boogie-Cross-Stitch/

22  Easy Homemade Carbonara in Recipes and Cooking Tips by PenolopyBulnick on: October 16, 2012 06:05:45 PM
I absolutely love carbonara!  I always assumed it was just alfredo, peas and bacon, but it it so much better than that!  It has a egg sauce that is simply wonderful.

You can check out the recipe here:  http://www.instructables.com/id/Homemade-Carbonara/

24  Oreo Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes in Dessert by PenolopyBulnick on: October 08, 2012 05:26:04 PM
I am playing with candy melts again and this time, Oreos are involved!  These seemingly normal cupcakes are topped with awesome oreos covered in candy coating!  They look a little messy, but they taste awesome!  I think they are a pretty nice Halloween Treat.  Both tasty and fun to look at Smiley

The directions are found here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Oreo-Pumpkin-Patch-Cupcakes/

I wanted to make some fun cupcakes for Halloween, so I thought up these little guys!  Though I still get frustrated with candy melts, it was fun creating the skeletons and decorating the cupcakes with them!

26  Peanut Butter Honey Cookie Pops in Dessert by PenolopyBulnick on: September 26, 2012 01:56:43 PM
I wanted to experiment with the cake pop idea and I thought I would try peanut butter cookies.  I wasn't sure if that would taste good mixed with frosting so I needed a different ingredient to get the cookie crumbs make balls.  I remembered that I really liked to have peanut butter and honey on toast so I decided to try honey.  It was an amazing idea!

You take a bite of these pops and you get that instant chocolate, peanut butter goodness, but then, you get that delayed honey sweetness and you just can't help but smile!

So I wanted to make a necklace with paperclips, but I didn't want it to be obviously paperclips.  I think it worked out pretty well.

For now, here is what you need:
  • Paperclips, the normal small kinds, #1 sized
  • Big beads that are 6mm
  • Small beads that are 3mm
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Round nose pliers
  • Wire Cutter (I used a tin cutter because that's what my husband had)
