12  Quilt rainbow skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by pinkbunnys18 on: January 14, 2012 08:42:47 AM
few years ago, I cam across this neat little idea. So I though I would make on too. I had most of these scraps already form old projects. I did pick up half yard on some of the orange and and yellow just to give it a bit more, but it was just a little and I got it on sale =) However, that lace trim was a bit more spendy ten what I wanted to pay. And Joann's ran out, so I had to wait for them to order more. But I love it! Its heavy to pick up, but feels pretty lite on, and its very breathable. I have made two more like it, a jean with white cotton (the jean is from left overs from cutting my kids pants to shorts) and I made another black one. Those two I only did the 2 layers, so there a bit shorter. I would love to make another soon. Maybe useing bigger squares to help save time.

14  my little steam punk pony in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by pinkbunnys18 on: January 10, 2012 01:26:56 PM
This was my first one that I have remade. I have hundreds of these (really last time I counted I had 403) Anyways, a good friend wanted some so she could remake them. But she wanted to use clay and make them into zombies, Frankenstein and stuff. I never thought of just making them cloths. Anyways I made her a top hat, corset, and a bustle skirt. I have made a a few pieces of steam punk jewelry in the past, so I just used some left over stuff to glue on her hat and corset. Also i didn't buy anything to make her. I recolored her with some ritdye. I didn't have purple so, duh, I mixed the red and blue. And I wanted to throw in something on the bustle that was purple. So sine the dye makes so much (and I didn't even use a quarter of whats in the little bag) I took some old white cotton fabric that was left over from another old project and colored that too. (see never throw anything away, you may need it someday Wink ) check out my blog for more photos

And this is NOT a TOY, for looking only. Lol. she is going on a top shelve in my house so kiddies cannot get her. lol.

Before

I just took some crafters glue, sanded down the leather a bit and glued on the ripped music paper.  Then when all was dry, put on a clear gloss polyurethane to help water proof it. and then put on the lace trim.

20  toy box in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by pinkbunnys18 on: December 29, 2011 11:57:48 AM
So I had this old toy box. After I remolded my downstairs I wanted it to match the rest of the decor in the room. I am very into the steam punk theme of things. Therefor I wanted to add a bit of that style to the toy box. I am also a little photo shop savvy so I made the photos that I ended up putting on the toy box. Just wanted to share it with everyone. enjoy.
