Everything is so amazing.  The penguins are glorious!

755  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / super easy custom napkin rings on: December 05, 2012 07:45:06 PM
OK this requires almost no skill, is easy and fun and I think turned out great!

I'm sure millions have done this before but the idea was new to me.  I cut up paper towel roll, into rings an inch and a half or so wide.  Printed out pictures from Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer.  Cut a strip from each picture to fit around a ring.  I liked doing the pictures on an angle or showing just a partial face, close up.  Modge Podge the paper strip around the ring, and coat on top and let dry.  Dip the ends into sparkly paint.  voila! Personalized super easy napkin rings.

I will definitely make more sets from other themes.

756  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / misfit pillow on: December 05, 2012 07:18:16 PM
for my christmas swap the main item I made was this pillow.  I have always loved the island of misfit toys from Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer.

I cross stitched the words in five colours, cut it out and sewed it into a pieced pillow with some fun green and red fabric I had.  I have just learned to sew so the piecing was a bit of a challenge, and the gap at the back yawns open, still from the front I am super happy with how it turned out.  And my swap partner liked it too!

757  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Seeing stars. on: December 03, 2012 09:16:14 PM

Today the swap fairy came to visit and wow am I lucky.
Here is my package from the amazing sloth003.

first a box full of gifts in lovely fabric bags, I love gift bags and can really use these

then the unwrapping, so much fun. She picked my theme of stars (yay!).

This mug with painted on stars, very sweet, and useful, made it without breaking, and some yummy sweet treats.

A great hoop stitched in blue, my favourite colour, with stars and planet and swirls and based off my pinterest, great job!  It's really lovely and already on my wall now!

And now, the item you will not believe.  i can't believe it.
This absolutely beautiful and perfect for me stars lap quilt!!!!!

I love it so much, the colours, the stars, it's so well done.  I can't believe how much work this must have been!
And it is just so wonderful, for christmas and beyond,
you can see my cat Maisie already enjoying it Smiley

I'm overwhelmed by how great this is.  Thank you sloth003 I am grinning from ear to ear and filled with holiday cheer already!!!  Can't wait for you to get your package, which I hope you like even a little bit as much as I liked yours.

happy holidays!

yay success with my big HO!  I pushed my skills and did something new using some elements I was already good at, and I think it paid off!

one little ho is done and the other is ready for assembling this evening in front of lovely sunday evening tv.

can't wait to have it all done and send it off to my fabulous partner and seen what she made!  the gallery is going to explode very very soon Smiley
