I claim Reichan for a kawaii card!

3rd claim, none sent yet or received this month

Hi I'm Robin, I've been on a break from swaps but had a little time and thought I'd jump in!
I live in Toronto Canada with two adorable cats, who love it when I stay home and craft instead of work.  I'm open to any styles, and cool with any content so long as it's not intolerant or discriminatory.  I love creativity and uniqueness!

My Themes for May:

Robots (I love robots!)
Space (planets, nebulae, stars, etc)
artist Charley Harper (look him up for awesome animals in a graphic style!)
Star Wars (can't wait for The Force Awakens)
Cats in men's clothes
Altered street signs (just made this up, it means whatever you want)
Stitched (cross stitch, embroidery)
Cute vegetable creatures
Solitude

26  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / poetry glass dish on: May 17, 2015 01:37:59 PM
I found a cool alphabet that I figured would work well in glass.  I imagined a square plate with 9 letters.  And my best friend is a great published poet.  So I set her a challenge, write me a three word poem, and each word has to be three letters long.  I picked my fave, which was "NOT YET DAY" and made this dish!  The blue on blue Y is a little hard to make out but otherwise I love it, and that it represents our combined work Smiley

further adventures in fused glass dishes, two that I made recently that turned out well

first a bee on yellow

and a purple and white pansy on green

28  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 107 ENTRIES / Abandoned Art Message in a Bottle on: March 06, 2015 04:36:49 PM
I recently made up these bottles to take to a friend who lives near the beach in Toronto, it was too cold that day but I left them with her to abandon along the beach boardwalk in hopes people will find and smile at my little gifts.

The small bottles are 4 inches tall.  They are painted with blue and green glass paint.  For the inside I cut a little linocut and made prints with my message to "Make Waves."  I rolled them and added a few silver stars with each print.  Then stamped and wrote on tags to encourage people to pick up and take home the bottles.

30  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / cardinal glass dish on: January 25, 2015 11:52:46 AM
I recently discovered 20th c illustrator Charley Harper and I just love his work.  The strong graphic animals are the best.  So I took inspiration from this Cardinal With Berries print and made a glass dish with red cardinal.  I'm pretty happy with the result. Smiley
