14  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How to use stitch markers on: May 04, 2004 10:09:22 AM
Hi Everyone,
I am knitting the Sophie Bag from Magknits and in my short knitting career, thsi is the first time I have needed to use Stitch Markers. So, after I picked up the stitches around the base, knit one round, then placed my 4 markers (I just used different color yarn). Now it says decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker on rows 10, 20 , 30, etc. My markers are way down at the bottom, do I just need to follow the imagionary line up from the marker at the bottom to see where I should decrease or am I using these markers wrong?
I know this is kind of a silly question-I hope someone understands what I am asking..thanks in advance!

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re:Knitting horror stories on: April 28, 2004 11:15:20 AM
I made a sweater for my mother for her b-day. I bought the car coat pattern from Patternworks along with 12 balls of yarn ($11.99 each-eek), stayed up until 3 in the morning the day before her birthday to finish it and it looks like crap. Seriously. It is about 3 sizes too big and I almost slit my wrists from all those $#%& ends to weave in. The night before I gave it to her I was secretly hoping my kitty would get into it and ruin it.

Anways, the moral? You aren't alone!

Has anyone tried this bag? I just bought some yarn to start it, it says that you only need 1 skein?? Sounds too good to be true!

Just wondering if anyone has knit it and if so, how did it turn out?

Purses are super cute in Ribbon Yarn....a not-warm-but-cute scarf possibly?

ohmygod, that looks awesome. I have been working on this sweater (my first sweater) for my boyfriend for months! I guess I am a slow knitter..how long did it take you to finish? I am about ready to go crazy!

Great job!
