1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Embarrasing Question.... on: March 28, 2006 01:33:43 PM
I was hoping you wouldn't say that...thanks though.

I will plan to sit down with it tonight and sew like crazy.

Do you always have to hand sew the binding on every quilt or is there another way--fyi for my future quilts.

Thanks!
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Embarrasing Question.... on: March 28, 2006 08:36:14 AM
Ok, so, I could ask my super-quilter-mother-in-law this question but I think that it would lower her opinion of me.  I am a beginning quilter and I made a baby quilt for a friends shower (that is this Saturday).  I have finished it except I need to tie it and sew up the binding around the edge (hand sewing it).  I have been so stressed at work, traveling and such and have had no time to finish this and it has become a total thorn in my side.

So, here comes the embarrasing part...can I use Stitch Witch to finish up the binding or will that turn out to be a disaster?  Do I need to buck up and just sew the damn thing?

Thanks for your help...and for not judging me  Tongue

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Budget Living, yeah or nay? on: February 04, 2005 10:39:28 AM
I say Nay.  I subscribed to it because I had heard that it was really cool but I am dissapointed. There aren't really any projects in it I would ever make and it just doesn't seem to have much substance.  I won't re-subscribe.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Baby Booties on: December 09, 2004 06:43:11 AM
Help! My boyfriends sister and he husband have been waiting to adopt a baby for a couple years and just last night we found out that they have been chosen! Only problem is, the baby will be here right around the first of the year and I haven't knit ANYTHING yet!  I thought I would have more notice! I am a advanced beginner at knitting and I am looking for a pattern that anyone might have for baby booties?  I saw the Uggs listed on another area of craftster and I might look into those but does anyone have an cute and easy patterns they might be willing to share??

THanks so much!

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: I need gift ideas for friends that are moving away.. on: November 24, 2004 01:52:42 PM
Hi! I did this for valentines day last year for my boyfriend and he loved them..they might work for this.  I had someone take a digital picture  of my face...close up.  I bought iron on paper from Office Max and ironed my face onto pillowcases. it was really goofy, he had to laugh!

Along this same line-I have ants and I also have a kitty that eats anything he finds on the floor-Any suggestions as to how I can get rid of the ants without killing my cat?
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: SLEEK MOD CAT SCRATCHER on: May 17, 2004 01:30:21 PM
I was going to attempt to make my own scratcher but after adding up all the costs it got pretty spendy. I just bought one at a Pet Store but I bet you could buy one already made and just re-cover it in whatever carpet you want.

Beware, as I learned the hard way, the more effort you put into it, the higher the likelyhood that your cat will hate it.

Picky little creep....anyways, good luck!

I know you can buy containers like that on the web somewhere, I don't know where exactly but I will dig around.

Good luck!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sophie bag from Magknits on: May 12, 2004 08:07:07 AM
SO, I finished the bag and plan on felting it tonight. I do want to line it though, has anyone done that with this bag? I don't have a sewing machine so it will all be by hand, does anyone have any tips on how to line a bad that isn't a square? This bag is smaller at the bottom so i am thinking that might cause problems. Also, what is the name of that stuff you iron on to "sew" things together? Does you think that would work???

This is a gift to my boyfriends mom so I am trying to get it perfect!

Thanks!
