1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Anyone else with wrong dates? on: December 21, 2005 12:58:47 PM
I just noticed in my message box the PMs I sent Monday have Tuesday's date, and the ones I sent on Tuesday have today's date. The test message I sent today doesn't have a date, just says Today.

Is anyone else having that problem?   Huh
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / ALL YEAR LONG CHRISTMAS CRAFTALONG 2006 on: December 12, 2005 09:53:53 PM
This had a great response last year (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=19998.0) so I've started it anew for Christmas 2006.

Here are the themes for 2006:

Jan: Ornaments
Feb: Sewn gifts
Mar: Jewelry/Book thongs
Apr: Magnets
May: Candles
Jun: Stencil/Iron-on
Jul: Craft kits
Aug: Decoupage
Sep: Scarves/hats
Oct: Soap
Nov: Gift wrap/Bows/Tags
Dec: Food gifts

This is an unswap! Keep everything you make for gifts at Christmas. Sign up at any point that you'd like (you get reminders with the craft themes and little tips if you sign up). If you don't want to do whatever craft is assigned to a month, feel free to subsititue with another craft. The main point is to keep crafting and making gifts to avoid the malls as much as possible at Christmas time.

Anyone who wants to join the Craftalong Unswap, email tap_panga-subscribe@yahoogroups.com . Thanks!
Don't just post here that you'd like to join with your email address, because I probably won't see it (sorry but it's honest).

Also, feel free to post here any questions you have about a craft, or pictures of your finished crafts so we can oooh and aaaah. Smiley
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Elvis 2 Swap Gallery on: December 02, 2005 05:52:28 PM
Your hunka hunka burning pictures go here.  Grin

Although I don't have pictures yet (where IS that digital camera cord, anyway?!), I rec'd my package from ayeshcube last week. I LOVE IT! It's a record bowl with my favorite lyrics and great Elvis pictures glued to it, a beautiful Elvis bag (which I can't get pictures of because my sister has already claimed it and ran), and the coolest Elvis journal ever. Where did you get those letters and things inside of it?

Thank you soooooooooooooooooo oooo much!!  Grin

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Royalty free vintage photos? on: May 25, 2005 04:05:06 PM
I know there are many threads on craftster about royalty free images, but I'm looking for vintage/antique images, like...

(Not sure where I got this one, so don't consider it royalty free)

Any idea where I can get royalty free images like this?

Maybe because of the age, it won't matter? Or can I get personal and old photos from flea markets/antique malls and use those?

Sorry if this question is redundant, and thanks in advance for your help.
7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Golf tees? on: April 27, 2005 01:05:34 PM
Just got a package of 10 golf tees in a welcome basket. I don't know anyone who golfs. What the heck can I do with these? Any ideas?
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Martha Stewart Swap? on: March 23, 2005 02:06:09 PM
Anyone interested?
9  UNITED STATES / Alabama / *Good* yarn stores near Bhm? on: February 23, 2005 08:36:17 AM
I know there's a new knitting/yarn store in Helena. Does anyone know of a closer one? There's *got* to be one in the Ham somewhere.

Thanks!

(I know I can get yarn at Hobby Lobby/Michael's/AC Moore/Wal-Mart/Hancock. I want better yarn than that.)
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / making chenille = the devil on: February 14, 2005 10:16:30 AM
I'm trying to make a chenille pillow, but I can't get the crap to fray. Any idea how to make it fray faster? I've gone one round in the washer and three in the dryer and nada. Not sure what fabric I got (it was in the remanent bin, but one may be taffeta) but I was told you could make chenille with anything that frayed easily around the egdes, which this does. Argh! I **really** don't want to start over.
