1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Quirky cute baby shower invites. on: February 27, 2012 04:32:31 PM
I'm in the process of building a sort of portfolio/examples of what I can do before opening some form of online store later in the year. This is one I put together in about 10 or 15 minutes last night. What do you think!?

(all details are from a random name/address generator)
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / A couple of wedding invite designs. on: January 23, 2012 01:55:08 PM
We don't have much left to plan so I sat down tonight and created a couple of ideas for our invites. I'll probably be doing a lot more in the next couple of weeks! Once we've picked an invite, I'll design the rest of the stationary around that Smiley

Sorry for the upload compression! They're a lot clearer and easy to read before being uploaded.
The horrible gray blobs are details of the venue etc x)

3  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: Crocheting for preemies - UK based.... on: January 21, 2012 04:34:57 AM
My niece was 4 months early and in an incubator for what felt like forever. On her ward, there was a great big rack of donated/knitted/crocheted/EVERYTHING clothes and bibs and mini teddies and.. well, everything that people had just handed in. So I'd contact your local maternity hospital to ask if they have something similar Smiley

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Super cheap and super easy yarn wreath. on: January 13, 2012 12:35:07 PM
We're having an UP! inspired wedding in November and I wanted a yarn wreath to hang on a door somewhere but didn't want to have to actually buy anything, heh. So I threw this together in about 45 minutes! Just using stuff found around the house Smiley
The drawing in the middle won't be the one we use on the day. I'll probably draw something similar but add our names and the date... and take my time over it Tongue

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Re: My very first mini book. on: January 10, 2012 07:35:06 PM
It was REALLY simple!

  • Using paper, draw the shapes you want your "pages" to be
  • Draw around the shapes on a cardboard box. I used the one my TV came in!
  • Cut out the shapes. I only had scissors but I wish I had a craft knife.
  • Paint some pages however you want and use the page templates to draw around pretty paper for the others.
  • Cut them out and glue them on!
  • Cut a hole in the top of each. I had to poke a pen through but would've preferred one of those hole punch things a lot of paper crafters use..
  • Do whatever you want on the pages! I wrote bits of lyrics from love songs and quotes.
  • Thread pretty ribbon through the holes and tie in a bow.
  • Attach a little memento. You can't really see it but in the last photo, there's a dragonfly. I just pushed his tail through the "knot" part of the bow.

and done! Simples Smiley

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Wee House Craftalong-Ongoing 2011 on: January 07, 2012 09:34:16 AM
I'm looking to get hold of the creatology house.. the "dollhouse with veranda" one. But I'm in the UK! Would someone be willing to buy one and ship it to me? If so, how much including shipping would this be?

I'd be looking to pay for it around the 23rd of this month..

Also, I understand you build it yourself? What extras would I need for this like adhesives etc? I'm looking to create the house from UP! for my wedding Smiley Would poster paints work?

I'd really appreciate it Smiley Thanks!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Pixars UP! inspired wedding. Ideas & suggestions, please! on: January 06, 2012 03:47:51 PM
After a horrendous 2 hours of losing EVERYTHING (we had it ALL planned) and trying to recover it, we gave up and took it as a sign.
A sign to make things even more awesome than before Wink And we've settled on a theme. That theme?

Cheesy Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for all things wedding related? We really are starting from scratch!

One of my ideas is to make the UP! house. I've seen houses in the make a house craftalong that people get super cheap in the US? Maybe someone could pick one up for me and mail me it (I'd pay of course) and then I could decorate it etc.. hmm!
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Our polka dot, vintage camera, fuschia ribbon centrepieces ;) on: January 04, 2012 11:26:11 PM
Look what we've been up all night doing! Mock centrepieces. Ignore the crudely drawn on ribbon and bow That'll be real.. of course. Wink

The jar is going to be full of paper stars and the wee baubles on the top of the jar will probably be another colour. The big round thing sticking out of it will be the table name. The jar will be full so the stick holding it won't be visible. There'll be a vintage camera on each one and that wee owl's just there for placement; we're having ceramic cupcakes (:

What do you think?!
