1  Quirky cute baby shower invites. in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by modified on: February 27, 2012 04:32:31 PM
I'm in the process of building a sort of portfolio/examples of what I can do before opening some form of online store later in the year. This is one I put together in about 10 or 15 minutes last night. What do you think!?

(all details are from a random name/address generator)

2  A couple of wedding invite designs. in Weddings and Bridal Showers by modified on: January 23, 2012 01:55:08 PM
We don't have much left to plan so I sat down tonight and created a couple of ideas for our invites. I'll probably be doing a lot more in the next couple of weeks! Once we've picked an invite, I'll design the rest of the stationary around that Smiley

Sorry for the upload compression! They're a lot clearer and easy to read before being uploaded.
The horrible gray blobs are details of the venue etc x)

4  Super cheap and super easy yarn wreath. in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by modified on: January 13, 2012 12:35:07 PM
We're having an UP! inspired wedding in November and I wanted a yarn wreath to hang on a door somewhere but didn't want to have to actually buy anything, heh. So I threw this together in about 45 minutes! Just using stuff found around the house Smiley
The drawing in the middle won't be the one we use on the day. I'll probably draw something similar but add our names and the date... and take my time over it Tongue

5  Our polka dot, vintage camera, fuschia ribbon centrepieces ;) in Weddings and Bridal Showers by modified on: January 04, 2012 11:26:11 PM
Look what we've been up all night doing! Mock centrepieces. Ignore the crudely drawn on ribbon and bow That'll be real.. of course. Wink

The jar is going to be full of paper stars and the wee baubles on the top of the jar will probably be another colour. The big round thing sticking out of it will be the table name. The jar will be full so the stick holding it won't be visible. There'll be a vintage camera on each one and that wee owl's just there for placement; we're having ceramic cupcakes (:

What do you think?!

Back before I got the owl and my knuckles

Very old photo. Ignore the eye on my arm. It'll be covered with grandpa from the munsters soon!

And these are fresh as a daisy, done today.

I also have a chest piece. But that is AWFUL and will be covered (;

7  Want to give it a go - supplies? UK! in Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions by modified on: December 17, 2011 07:10:27 PM
Hi Smiley I'm very much interested in giving this polymer clay thing a go. I want to make necklaces/earings/plugs/tapers/little ornaments etc.. anything and everything really. Here are a few links to the things I've found on here that I'd love to have a go at:

Could I please have a list of supplies I'll need? I have a hobbycraft very near me and I shop on amazon a lot but I'm very much open to shopping at other online stores. Oh, and one stickler... it has to be UK only. I'm severely impatient and waiting even for things to get here within the UK is torture enough.

Quick question: When creating things like this, would it be easier/cheaper to get white fimo and paint it? Or go for the coloured fimo?

8  Cheap canvas print into EPIC canvas print. in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by modified on: December 10, 2011 01:34:38 AM
This started life of as a very cheap "canvas" print of London phone boxes. It's been hanging up in our living room since we moved in purely to cover some wall space and I've always detested it. So I reworked it!

This took a while. There's probably a quicker way to do it but I didn't want to spend any money. I wanted it to look quite rustic and messy to a degree with paint bleeds and some of the original canvas showing through, anyway.

Supplies
Cheap crap "canvas"
White acrylic paint
Black acrylic paint
Paint brush
Pencil
Card

First, I covered the entire canvas in the white paint. This took about 20 coats of paint, no joke. Then I cut the letters out of card and placed them down where I wanted them whilst the paint was still tacky. I just dunked some black paint right into the pot with the left over white paint and this created a very, very slightly off-black. Then, I just swished the paint brush over it any which way. It mixed with the tacky white paint to create some black, white and grey areas and sticking the letters down whilst the paint was still tacky ensured a little of the previous print would show through. Not sticking the letters down completely ensured some of the black paint bled into the letters. Put together, I got an even better effect than I wanted and a canvas print that I adore.

9  Wedding stationery. in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by modified on: December 09, 2011 07:11:11 PM
I always wanted to make my own stationery so, using a few things I found available online, I created these.

The main invite.

The RSVP.

The night invite.

They'll be presented together a little like this.

Oh, there are meant to be name differences between the 2 invites. I'm known by 2 names by 2 groups of people Wink

10  Print for the living room! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by modified on: December 08, 2011 11:15:58 PM
I got super bored tonight and stumbled across a DIY print that I fell in love. A few little tweaks later and here is my own version! I love it; so much so, I'm tempted to go and wake up my lovely (it's after 7am.. been up all night) just to show it to him Cheesy

(rockstar the energy drink btw)
