1  Re: Ms. Marigold in Knitalongs by Kimidawn24 on: October 14, 2007 03:41:33 PM
I finished mine about a month ago, but the weather is only just now getting cool enough for me to wear it.

2  Very Basic But Cute Quilt from a First-Timer in Quilting: Completed Projects by Kimidawn24 on: July 15, 2007 02:22:24 PM
I am in awe of all of your amazing quilting skills- especially after trying it myself!

Made from a quilt kit bought at Joann's, except the three largest panels were my own fabric.  I used in the ditch quilting only, I should have probably quilted it a little more, but I was afraid my lack of sewing expertise would be even more noticeable if I did that.  It also came out smaller than expected (it was supposed to be twin sized, but I somehow missed the part about using 1/4" seams and used 1/2" instead.)  It is pretty wonky here and there, but it is snuggly and I'm happy with it!

Here's an update on mine- knitpicks gloss in pumpkin.  I'm trying to hang in there, but it is taking longer than I'd like.

Fellow Marigold-ers, I need your help.  I'm using the suggested US size 5 needles, along with the suggested Elegance yarn.  However, after 20 stitches and 28 rows, I'm supposed to have 4 inches, and I only have 3 inches.  My gauge is way off.  Here are pics:

It doesn't seem TOO horribly small, but I think I may run into some problems when I join the round.
The question: to frog or not to frog?

8  Irish Hiking Wristwarmers in Knitting: Completed Projects by Kimidawn24 on: July 29, 2006 05:08:48 PM
I just finished these up today.  They will go great with my matching Panta.  This was my first attempt at making cables and I was shocked at how easy they are.  If you're scared of cables, don't be- just jump on in and try them!  (PS, www.knittinghelp.com has good videos to show you how!)

My first hat, modeled by my super-cute hubby:

I did a really bad job seaming up the back. (Which I'm not showing you!)
Any good tips for seaming these?
