My package is aboard a freight vessel headed for theMidnightRose.  Cheesy  Hopefully it won't run afoul of any greedy Ferengis.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Gertie's portrait blouse with an FBA on: April 03, 2013 09:21:52 AM
Hey all!  I received the book "Gertie's New Book for Better Sewing" as a birthday gift, and decided for my first project I'd try the portrait blouse.  Since I have big boobs, I did a full bust adjustment-my first.  I used some funky vintage polyester from my fabric stash.

Happily crafting away on my big item, got a few ideas kicking around for the second.  If I had to choose a doctor to be treated by, I think I'd prefer Dr. Crusher.  She seems to have the best bedside manner, as long as you don't annoy her.

Wow, that Scotty sure looks authentic! Looks like you guys had a great time.

I had a great flash of inspiration last night.   Grin  I just need my husband to pick up the correct item from the craft store on his way home.  Fingers crossed!  Anyone else have spouses that volunteer to pick up craft supplies but occasionally bring home a not-quite-right thing?

Feeling kind of stuck today.  Guess it's time for a TNG marathon for inspiration!

RikaHeart, I am *dying* of jealousy over here.  TNG is my favorite trek.

I am so excited for the swap.  I want to try to check out some of this Star Trek fabric at Joann's.
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Put a Bird On It! on: March 08, 2013 01:35:53 PM
When not swapping, I'm currently plowing my way through my fabric/notions stash.  I've become a bit of an estate sale addict of late and I need to use stuff or my sewing cave is going to look like an episode of "Hoarders" soon.

I made this little bag out of some fabric scraps.  The branch is my first attempt at an applique.  I used some ultrabond paper backed fusible and a scrap of tan fabric.  The ultrabond says it's permanent as is without sewing.

Isn't the owl sitting on the branch awesome?  I have a few of them.  They were on little cards saying "You'd be wise to check out our loans! XYZ Savings and Loan".  After years in a damp basement, I didn't trust Mr. Owl's adhesive anymore, so I glued him down with some fabric glue.

I'm pretty happy with it, but I wish I'd made the design lower on the flap and the whole thing BIGGER!!  I used a pattern from a purse book, and this is not a mom-sized bag.

Ooooh!!!!  I love Star Trek.  I've just completely finished my first swap, so I should be good to go!  Getting started on the questionnaire now.  Grin
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Adult Only Swap Round 7 (Send out Feb. 11) GALLERY! on: February 27, 2013 07:44:15 AM
I just got this awesome package from Annchen!  Please excuse the crappy cellphone pics, my camera is MIA.

I can't wait to try these love cuffs  Grin

I adore this leg tickler!

Other goodies: A delicious smelling massage bar, some massage oil, some cute band-aids, and some Swedish candy!

Not pictured because my husband already ran off with it- Grin A nice crocheted toy storage bag filled with "inspirational" words.  I wonder what he's planning...lol.

This was so much fun for a noob.  You've created a new swap addict!  Grin
