11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Play Food Sweat Shop Swap Veggie: Round 1 on: June 03, 2009 10:16:05 AM
beckster,
Is amigurumi food different from the crochet food patterns found on esty or in the book Tasty Crochet?  If it is, do you have some links to patterns.  I am always looking for new patterns.

elociNNicole,
Felt food is not hard.  Now knitting, that's a different story.  I've tried to learn to knit 3 or 4 times and have had no success.

This round I think I will be crocheting food.  love2teach

Nope amigurumi is crochet stuff.  It's exactly the same as tasty crochet.  Mostly, I think, amigurumi is cute lil stuffed critters, but sometimes food too.  Basically, amigurumi is crocheted toys.  Long enough explanation! Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Have you checked out ravelry for patterns?  They have TONS!

I got all my tomatoes done tonight.  Yay for me!  I pretty much winged it, but I think they turned out super cute.  I shouldn't doubt my crochet skills, I surprise myself every time! Roll Eyes

Oh, I forgot to mention they're beef steak tomatoes.  Wink

Woot!  I just sent in my questionnaire!  Yay!  I think this swap will be a lot of fun!

What's this ballot stuff about?

I think asparagus is a good idea.  I love the stuff, but the fake kind won't make your pee stink, lol! Roll Eyes

I kinda wouldn't mind making carrots.  I have yarn that's called 'carrot'.  Perfect!

I am already looking forward to other rounds of this.  I see a dessert round in the future!  A meat round would be hilarious!

It took me a long time to decide on wether or not to do this swap.  I am so glad I did!!  And to think I was worrying about shipping!  Psshhhh....What was I thinking?  I can save a dollar a week and still have more than enough.  Piece of cake! Cool

can't wait till partners!

Whoo Hoo!  I just sent in my questionnaire!  I was wondering if I would get it done in time.  I even have extra stuff on it.  121 to be exact.  I can't wait to get partners now!  Wheeeeeee!

I would totally join this swap.  It sounds like a good one.  My problem isn't the crafting, it's the shipping!!  Arg!  I hate this!  Any suggestions for cheap shipping?  And by cheap I mean really super cheap.  'Cuz that's how I roll.  No, not really.  I'm just afraid I won't be able to hold up my end of the bargain by not being able to ship, and that would be totally lame-o!

What to do?

If you sew or plan on sending jewelry or any other squishable-esque item you could use the flat rate priority envelope, it's 4.95 and I've been able to fit many many things in there in the past, and this is only a 5 pt swap.  Totally think you could manage to get enough in there.

You know, that is really good advice!!  I think I could find 5 bucks somewhere (couch), even in quarters!!  Hell, if the BF can buy a pack of smokes, he can buy me some shipping!  His crap is more expensive even!!  Don't worry, it's a instant death sentence if he gets anywhere near my craft stuff.  He goes outside.  But, I digress...I am a yarn-craft kind of girl, so all/most of my stuff is squishy...I may get to working on a list.

I have till Sunday right?  I notice that more than 100 things is ok too? I think I may be getting excited, it's been a loooong time since I swapped.  My last was 12 days of xmas, after that I needed a serious break.
