He does like magnets... I saw something similar made into coasters too-- but they were $15 each.

In my mad rush to get to the post office before it closed, I only got a couple of (glare-y and blurry) pictures... I was on a mission, stopping only for skwerls (squirrels-- sorry, geeky Montana thing.)
Seriously though, I am so surprised I didn't get pulled over.  And how do you explain that one?  "Officer, I realize that I was going 50 in a 25, but I had to mail the robot?"
Anywho... pictures.
I don't have Selah's oh-so-supersweet card, as I am in the middle of moving and I have no idea what box it is in.
But this is what I sent her.

robot jewelry box (the feet have little removable felt flowers)

robot cards (again, felt)

and mis-matched robot earrings

I'm so glad that you liked them Selah... and I'm glad I could make up for a flake-y partner!

Dixie, have you emailed psshimsosass? She hasn't logged onto Craftster since April 9, accoring to her profile, so a PM won't do much good. It also looks like she used her 3rd post ever on craftster to ORGANIZE a swap... not sure how that was allowed. Her most recent posts talk about her 60-hour-a-week job, etc, etc, so maybe if you bombard her with a few "where are you?!" emails, she'll come around.

Actually that conclusion was based on the fact that multiple people have mentioned her as flaking on the thread about swap organizers, how do you feel... i haven't officially declared her one, but i am keeping that door open.

Dixie, I was a swap angel for the robots in spring swap in psshimsosass's place because she completely flaked... so I wouldn't count on her.

Too bad my boyfriend doesn't wear barrettes.
Well, actually, perhaps it is best that he doesn't.  But he would love this.

Sigh.  Yard sale/thrift store to-find list just keeps getting longer and longer...
I really like that idea.
*hangs head in illiterate shame* I also expected to see a tire

That would make a really fun swap.
Excellently done, littleweasel.  I especially like the lime.
47  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: yes friends, the boy knits! on: May 02, 2005 09:48:07 PM
I'm a resident assistant on a boys floor, and I knit at the desk... a couple of my boys have been interested, but they thought it was too "girlie" as well.  I'll have to show them this thread.
Unfortunately xmelinda, they are freshman boys, so most of them would have an ulterior motive...

you should post a picture of that...

Those look splendid.
I saw something like this once, I think on a website the boy sent me.  I wanted to try it but lost the website/magazine/etc. instructions...   I think you've inspired me to look them up.
Awesome job.

I received the most wonderful robot-themed thank you from Selah today, which was completely unexpected but completely appreciated.  It has a great robot drawing and "robot" spelled out in sign language... which brings the number of words I can sign to up to 5!  Thanks Selah-- it was barrels of fun to make you a package, but it is also really nice to know you liked it.
