21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: my white cotton/wool wedding sweater turned off-white when I blocked it on: October 01, 2005 06:32:55 AM
Sorry about your sweater, but that comment about the virginity was hilarious. Have you tried using bluing to whiten it up?
22  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What is Yarn Affair!? on: October 01, 2005 06:30:33 AM
I braved it and entered my email adddress. It does sound like it's going to be Mary Kay for yarn.  They were putting together starter kits that consultants could purchase, etc.

Ugh, that does sound like a difficult travel schedule.

I go to Needlework Unlimited fairly often. The store has a really great selection of yarn, but I didn't even know they carried Habu. I'm going there for a mitten knitting class today, so will have to check it out!

All the finished Oranginas look so great. I'm pleased to report that I am finally done with mine.

I had a bit of trouble with the finishing (details on my knit blog), but I'm pretty happy with it. If I had it to do over again I would have chosen the smallest size and would have gone down two needle sizes, rather than one on the ribbing.

I just need to finish sewing the top seams and do a bit of blocking and I'll be finished. Woo hoo!

Great - thanks for the advice! I think I just want to block the lace a bit to tidy some of it up.

I'm FINALLY to the ribbing section. I too had set this project aside for weeks (months?), but picked it up again a few weeks back. How do you all block yours? Did you dunk the whole thing? Give it a little spritz? I'd appreciate any advice.

ctgirl - that looks beautiful!

After a lengthy break I've started working on mine again. I'm afraid my lace looks a lot sloppier than most I've seen, so I'm hoping the finished project will be worth the effort.

Yahaira - do a swatch. You'll see how accessible it is. The repeat is really easy to remember!  Smiley

Black will look great.

I have barely touched  mine over the past couple of weeks. I need to get back to it if I'm ever going to finish!
