Thanks for all the comments everyone! I'm sad the man himself is gone, but I hope this acts as a nice tribute to a fantastic actor.  Rest in Peace Patrick McGoohan.

I wasn't sure exactly where to put this painting, but figured this was the best place for it. Recently, I watched the box set of the 60's series The Prisoner and really enjoyed it.  Strange and definitely thought-provoking.  I love Patrick McGoohan and with the show being so quote-able, I felt crafty enough to paint something up.

I started by converting a photo of McGoohan in Photoshop with threshold and then printed it out.  I used tracing paper to go over the outline of the photo in pencil and then rubbed the tracing onto the canvas.  I did the same process with the star and text and painted everything in with acrylics.

Hope you enjoy and any suggestions are welcome! Smiley

I bought some ten cent paper lanterns over the summer and jazzed them up with a little Mod Podge and tissue paper.

Steps:
Insert the wire into the lantern to open the lantern up.  You can get creative with the tissue paper: You can use decorative or plain tissue paper and cut either strips, abstract pieces, or objects or silhouettes out.  Go wild! Then, lay the tissue paper over the lantern and brush two coats of the Mod Podge over each layer.  Once it's all dry, you are still able to fold the lantern back up.

For the purple lanterns, I just cut out swirls and curls free-hand and I liked them best:

For the bird silhouette, I traced a chickadee from a bird coloring book and used nail clipping scissors to cut it out.  It was tedious, but not too hard:

Hope you all enjoy!

This is lovely. It looked like it took a lot of time and it really shows.   It's great and the colors are fun!
