Everyone got such a great assortment of paper!  I'm jealous that I didn't get to do this swap!
12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Meet the baby ideas on: June 27, 2005 08:44:58 PM
Thanks for the advice and concern.  My mom was a labor and delivery nurse, so I know that we won't be able to have the party right after it is born.  My friend and I have discussed it and we would have it a month or two after it is born.  I am just a perfectionist and want to start getting some ideas.  It is so nice to have people watch out for others!  Thanks again.

You had my husband and I rolling with laughter.  I wish I knew someone that was getting married so that I could give this toast!

My friend is due very soon, but she didn't find out if the the baby is a boy or a girl.  After the baby is born, I would like to have a "Meet the baby" party. Does anyone have any ideas for this?  I know that some people wanted to give the baby a personalized boy/girl gift, but I don't want it to be a shower.  I don't want people to feel like they "have" to bring a gift.  Any suggestions would be great!

As far as theme I usually like to use the baby's nursery theme for the shower theme. That way what ever you get for the nursery can be used for the shower and anything you get for the shower can be used in the nursery.

Also take a look at the small flower basket in this photo below I made it from rolling up onsies, bibs, burp cloths, wash cloths, and socks into a flower shape around a skewer and stuck the skewer into some floral foam inside a simple basket and tied two pacifiers at the end of each side of the handle with some cute ribbon. It was a huge hit and didn't cost much, got most of the items from the $1.00 store. $10 total.

Is that a baby carriage with fruit in it?  Is it made from a melon?

What a great idea! How did you make it?  My grandma's b-day is coming up.  It would be perfect for her.

For computer stuff I always look on www.thinkgeek.com
They have a ton of t-shirts that you could get ideas from. I hope this helps!
