11  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Fake Swap Craftalong for Swap Junkies!!! 2014 on: July 30, 2014 09:59:19 AM
This idea puts fun back into being productive - I love it! I can't get anything accomplished without a deadline, it seems, and I have a craft ton of supplies. This is swap perfection, haha!

My name is onthinice
I am joining the Frugal Living Swap.
I will make 3 dishtowel/dish drainer mats and edge 2-4 bath towels for this swap.
It is due by September 8, 2014.

My partner has flaked on me I don't know how many times in the past. She promises to be better this time, so I'll give her another chance.

I mailed out my two claims for anna.wahnsinn today. I wanted to slap a bunch of pretty postage stamps on it, but the man behind the counter said some nonsense about how the metered sticker is more efficient...like Germans don't know how to count. What?! Has anyone else encountered this when mailing international packages from the US?

Anyway, claiming these items for anna.wahnsinn has me making the same ones for me  Grin

Wow, postage costs really suck sometimes. I guess I need to re-read the swap rules because I thought tracking was required on US domestic packages, but wasn't necessary on international swap packages.

I have two days off from roller derby practice, so I can craft late into the night - yay! anna.wahnsinn, your embroidery cards exist, and now I get to do the fun part of decorating them. My rubber stamp collection is spread out all over my dining room table, so I can see them all at once  Cheesy
14  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: July 2014 Ongoing Pinterest Swap on: July 14, 2014 09:35:34 PM
Howdy from Missouri, USA! I have two dogs, two cats, and a turtle. I don't smoke, but with that many furry animals in the house, I cannot guarantee a pet hair-free package to you. I will try my best to keep my craft offerings as clean as possible, but if you are super-allergic you might want to say something if I claim you. Cats do what cats want to do, and that is usually get all in your business when you are working hard on creating something. It is what it is  Cool

Here is my Pinterest. Most of my pins are things I am interested in making, but since I obviously cannot cover that much creative territory, please consider everything fair game to claim.

I love jewel tones, but don't hold yourself to those as the only color option. Other color combinations are lovely also. However, I'm not much of a fan of pink. If you pick me, feel free to message me with any questions. I'll probably edit this post and add more information as I read other, better written posts by the rest of you. Thanks so much if you pick me!

Alrighty. I've stalked some of you on Pinterest and have repinned so many fun ideas that I really need to join this swap. I've been away from Craftster for a long time, and I've missed swapping sooo much! Jexxican has accepted me into the group, so now I need to get off of my butt and write up a bio (I find writing about myself really difficult). I hope to make my first claim soon Smiley

Everything posted is fantastic! I've finally started one of my pins, but I don't have enough finished yet for pictures.

vincentvanbuck - That's some sweet fabric. I have a yard or two of the St. Patrick's Day men. I intended to make a bag out of it. That didn't happen in time for St. Patrick's Day, so it's now on my list for next year.

Thanks, everyone. Sorry I haven't been back to respond sooner  Embarrassed

My altered art was well-received! The recipient of the UFO painting (my favorite) said she was going to display it in her kitchen.  The other two went to one of my cousins, and he said he was either going to put them up in his office or give them to clients, haha!

I have two more pieces of horrible art that I will eventually get around to putting my own touches on them. When I do, I'll post them!

Okay, I have to jump on this. I have a problem of creeping the internet for ideas, but I am slow to get moving on actually making my visualized creations. Crafting accountability buddies unite!!
19  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Altered Thrift Store Paintings on: December 23, 2013 04:58:23 PM
I was invited to three white elephant gift exchanges this week, and I was looking for those perfect unusual gifts to bring.  I decided on altering some fantastically awful thrift store treasures.

This last one is a dorky motivational poster that says "RISK:  It's not the circumstance, it's your reaction to the circumstance."

I've loved making these and foresee an explosion of altered thrift store paintings in my house!

Thanks guys.  My pin did not place in our competition.  The pieces in the contest were beautiful, and I'm happy to have entered this year.
