31  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: my prom bag on: July 24, 2005 12:32:57 AM
the clasp actually keeps it shut. i dont really know how to explain it though
32  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: corset-ish top on: June 20, 2005 04:59:33 PM
*All i did was cut straight across just under the collar.
*And for the corset part i only did it because my shirt was a lil bit too big. and i just folded it a lil bit on eachside, on the back. and put safety pins across each side to hold the folds inplace.
(u may want to have the closure of the pin on the out side of the fold rather than more toward the middle so that ur ribbon doesn't get stuck in the little hooks. so you can adjust how it fits)
*then obviously i just put the ribbon through the pins just like lacing a shoes. i pulled it fairly tight so that it would stay up. other wise you may have some technical difficulties hehe.
i hope that helped some...i'm REALLY bad at telling people how i do things...cuz i just kinda do them.

34  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / DIY book on: June 11, 2005 12:09:39 AM
This probably doesn't seem like much...but i'm kind of excited about it. I wish I had thought about making the pages more creative but now it's pretty much too late. But anyway, I made this book for my ex-boyfriends lil sisters 14th birthday. She is getting into the whole DIY thing and so I wrote down a bunch (and I'm still adding to it) of the tutorials I have found over the past few years. Some from this site some from others. I just got a simple folder and wrote out the tuts. on plain notebook paper and then to make it somewhat spiffy, I made a dedication page, table of contents and numbered all of the pages to make it more...book-ish. I may still go back and decorate the pages some...probably should. And I decoupaged the cover.

heres the inside...see uber boring...

heres the cover...its so exciting to me!!!

I'm going to explain why i chose some of the phrases.
Amanda - obviously, her name.
Freshman year - obviously, going to be a freshman
Lucky Star - she is an actress of sorts
(the big yellow one says) YOUR STYLE - I was too lazy to try and find all of the letters to spell out "do-it-yourself" so i left it with that.
the rest you cant really read. anyways tell me what you think of the cover atleast i know the inside blows....actually tell me what you think of the idea in general. I think I may give her a box I have that i dont use anymore and put a bunch of old shirts, some of my fabric scraps that are cool, and some other lil crafy tid-bits in it. what do you think of that? Huh
35  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Huge Thrift Store Pants to Crazy Fall Skirt (really image heavy!) on: June 09, 2005 05:33:56 PM
that is so hot! i've been thinking of making a skirt that is a big mess of scraps, but i want it to be a huge fashion faux-pas (sp?) i want it to be plaid, stripes AND polkadots! yes...i think that would be fantastic.  Cheesy
36  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: my prom bag on: May 15, 2005 08:36:27 PM
My bag is just plain black DUCK brand duct tape. I didn't add anything i think its just the light reflecting off of the shiney texture.  This is the rest of my outfit. Me and my boyfriend are the one on the right.

37  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / poker chip earrings on: May 08, 2005 09:23:52 PM
i made these earrings for my prom after party. i was originally going to make them all dangly, but that was a pain in the butt...plus my contacts weren't working so i decided to just glue the 3 chips together like they were stacked.

38  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / my prom bag on: May 08, 2005 09:18:49 PM
i didn't like any of the hand bags i saw so i decided to simply make one. i didnt use any of the tuts. from the site that i saw, i just kinda made it...but i dont know if i'd be able to redo it exactly. which is unfortunate because my boy's lil sis wants me to make her one just like it. Undecided

this is before i had added the strap or had decided how to fasten it.

here is the finished product

its a lot smaller than i'm used to. but hey thats ok. it held my digital, my phone, eyeliner, lipstick and my DUCKtape wallet i made.
39  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / "duck" tape handbag for prom on: April 19, 2005 03:05:41 PM
I bought my prom dress a couple of weeks ago, and have been looking for accesories. I found a bunch of black handbags...unfortunately i am picky and they all had something on it that either i hated or wouldnt go with my dress.
THis is my dress
I only found one handbag that would have matched it...but as you can see it is a li'l too much.

So i had the genious idea to make my own. i had just bought some colored "duck" tape. and decided to make a lil handbag. although i now have to add a few inches on the sides and the top because...its a VERY tight squeeze!!!
well here it is. the first ones are when i stop one day because i didnt know how to make it close. the 2nd is the...semi-finished product.
