Yeah so far this is the best execution I've seen of this project. I've made one but my god it'ragged compared to yours! And you're sooooo right about the side seams, i undid about 1.5 inches so i can open my clutch!
It's made for an iPod but my phone is in there to keep its shape. Used: Leftover Bernat Lovebug yarn in bettle blue (discontinued) using size 2 straight needles in a 2 x 2 rib, just like the other cozy above! More photos: Here
OMG I have been there on a trip to the Seaport after work (i work by the brookyln bridge) and I'm in love. There are kitschy Jap Places like that all over midtown (34, 33, 32sts b/w 5th and 6th ave) but this was the first I saw in the Financial District.
I'll go monday and let you NYC Craftsters if the Bamboo Needles are still around.
