well i was watching TLC and i caught a family that adopts children with mental and physical disabilities. they have adopted 23 children and have 4 biological children. they are on welfare and i would love to organize a fundraiser to not only raise money, but also collect donations of toys and clothes for the children. does anyone have any experience in organizing fundraisers? i would like to have a concert in my town recreation center with some local bands who would play for free. I'm guessing 10 bucks a ticket is good. i can also get dunkin donuts to donate doughnuts, bagels, muffins and coffee (Ive had them do it before...can you say 30 boxes of joe??) and i could sell that there too.
HOW IS THIS RELATED TO CRAFT YOU SAY? if the fundraiser comes into action, i will gladly accept any donation of anything you guys make...anything! and sell whatever it is at the concert. anything not sold would be returned to the creator.
i really need help! this family has really touched me and their faith in these children is unbelievable. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. The other day I went into Hot Topic to find some Christmas presents. What I found was an even greater hate for that store.
They are selling bags that look like they were made out of sweatshirts. I guess so people can walk around pretending they have some amazing craft ability while we crafters slave away over sewing machines and knitting needles.
Basically, it looks like someone took a sweatshirt, cut it off below the pockets, sewed it together, sewed the arms together, and the bag entrance is through the neck hole. The hood is still on it too.
so one day i was hanging out with my friend when i discovered a huge bottle of bubbles. i had recently gotten my camera and i wanted to play around with it, maybe make cool prints to hang on my walls. so we blew about half of the bottle out, and i put it on her shaggish carpet.
...and i knocked it over.
apparently, adding water to bubble solution= foam. her carpet foamed.
after about two rolls of paper towels, i gave up and put her lamp over the foaming spot. i have yet to see what it looks like. it sort of bleached her carpet.
oh noo!!!!!!! so i really want to be betty boop for halloween, because recently, everybody says i look like her (?) i had this perfect little red dress from an old dance costume but i dont know where it is, so does anybody know where i could get a pattern for her dress/her red high heels?
if not, where could i buy a good dr frankenfurter doctors outfit, complete with pink rubber gloves?
so i just great news! besides the fact that i can save a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to geico, i also learned that my sisters college dorm is above the ARTS AND CRAFTS SECTION ON CAMPUS!!!!! shes basically going to be living above a cave of sewing machine, knitting needles, things for silk screening, and almost everything else a craftster would find in heaven. I CANT WAIT TILL VISITING DAY!!!
so recently i was in my county library and found a book sent by god. THRIFTSCORE by al hoff (the same al hoff with the magazine thriftscore) everybody should go pick it up. anyway. i have these two sweatshirts. both zip up, pockets hoodie. both are huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. one of them is an adult medium and the other is an adult 2XL. i know how to take them in, but what else can i do to spiff them up? the adult medium i already painted on and the 2xl has an image on it. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP (i dont have a sewing machine so i cant do any crazy sewing)
so on one of my many trips to michael's, i bought two packs of magnetic alphabet letters for 1 dollar each. i thought it was a great bargain, but now i have nothing to do with them. what can i use them for?
