1  Re: Star Baby Blanket~Along in Crochetalongs by DM7DragonFyre on: July 28, 2010 03:14:32 PM
I made one for my nephew who is as yet unborn.... my sis-in-law is due for a c-section on aug 9 (which is his fathers birthday too). She typically doesn't use "normal" colors, like her daughter was desaturated greens and pinks with brown. Soooo here's what I did for him...

I used Charisma yarn that was at Michaels, which is like mega super soft and squishy and i LOVE IT and highly recommend it. It crocheted up really damn fast!

2  Valentine Gift - WoW Arigurumi in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by DM7DragonFyre on: February 14, 2009 12:50:02 PM
So. This is my Valentines Day present for ma boy this year-- I was really worried I had outdone myself last year (his favorite game is Portal, and I made him a Companion Cube Cake).

But anyhow, I saw all the cute little amigurumis over at http://geekcentralstation.blogspot.com/ which helpfully came with a pattern Smiley And thought I would make one for him.

One of the neat things about my boyfriend is his storytelling. He is a fantastic writer and storyteller, and no matter what he runs into he always leaves a trace of this behind. So, in WoW, his main character is a little gnome female, a warrior, named Pips. He is on a PvP server and has a brilliant story and background for her, and despite the fact that I make fun of him all the time for roleplaying a gnome female, i thought shed be fun to make Smiley

So i looked him up in the WoW armory and got all the armor stuff... and made one!

3  RockBand... and wings! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by DM7DragonFyre on: February 08, 2008 01:54:59 AM
A huge nerd is me.

Over the holidays I worked at the GameStop down the street (AWESOME) and I managed to get some cool swag every now and then-- including, of course, a RockBand shirt! ... that was an XL. I'm... not. (ha)

So I slimmed it down, added some new red and black sleeves (I'm a bit red+black obsessed), and resisted the urge to make it a hoodie because I have far too many. So instead I gave into my wings-on-back-of-clothing fetish (hi, Rinoa, how are you?) and painted wings on the back with some pretty silver fabric paint. They totally don't make sense, but I absolutely LOVE THEM.

Ok, ok, pics, I promise.

the front. + messy ass apartment.

Oh and hey! My computer! being attacked by my mountain dew addiction... moving on...

wings wings wings wings!!! *huggles them... somehow...*

4  Black+Purple V-Neck Sweaterrrr in Knitting: Completed Projects by DM7DragonFyre on: February 08, 2008 01:41:51 AM
I'm so. so. so terrible at posting.

So I finished this... mm... like mid-summer last year, hahaha Smiley I originally used the pattern from the "Beginner's Top-Down Raglan" pattern -->http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=152316.0 but kinna mixed it in with the yoke for the SKB (aka the Simple Knit Bodice, which is beautiful and I never finished, of course).

Long story short, I kinda made it up.

I used Caron's Simply Soft in um... black and purple. woo. And some form of circular needle because I totally payed attention.

On to the pics!

Color is a bit wonky on this one... but still, full shot, woo.

more to the real color. Still a bit more royal than this, but whatevs. and my hair is wet.

So yeah. Hooray for sweaters in the middle of summer that I promptly forget about once its actually cold!

5  Re: The Beginner's Top-Down Raglan (patt. incl.) in Knitalongs by DM7DragonFyre on: November 18, 2007 08:40:41 AM
oh my god, the last time I posted was on pg 30-- in may-ish. I finished this over the early part of the summer and it was ungodly hot here, so I couldn't really wear it.

But now I am wearing it, because the tempurature is just right Smiley

i look left.

It is caron simply soft, of course, in black and purple. Go figure. I made the sleeves extra long and adapted a pattern I was previously attempting (and failing) for the neckline, then just worked on with shaping and such.

Pattern I used for the neckline--> http://www.stitchdiva.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=SDS-026

6  Red and Black Cheesecake in Dessert by DM7DragonFyre on: October 18, 2007 06:46:37 PM
So... I think we can all agree that that multi-colored cheesecake is the s**t. So I promised myself I would try it.

So to celebrate a 4-month milestone for my boyfriend and I, I made one in our favorite colors: red and black!

Annnd... its really tasty. But... because of the black food coloring, when we eat it we look like big goth kids Smiley its awesome.

So... I was really inspired by Virgil65's work and I loved her layering ideas. I found some really, really awesome cloth at Walmart... mesh that had stars on it. I have been having this little star fetish recently Smiley

Combine with 3 shirts from Michaels (cheap fabric, ha), and some black ribbon.

I love it Smiley I've gotten a lot of compliments on it

I'm... Im cool.

8  XL shirt = hot dress action in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by DM7DragonFyre on: August 15, 2007 11:30:28 AM
So yeah. I saw this post...
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=177288.0

and was really inspired to make a dress, particularly in that pretty little purple color. Also, despite my favorite color being red, I have been having a huge purple fetish recently for reasons I don't fully understand.

ANYHOW. On to the pictures!

I had to add a waistband thing because my stitching was off on the seam between the dress and the bodice. oop.

DragonFyre-typical emo-glam shot. wid my kitty...

Actually this is to show off the gathering at the bust area, which I was really rather rediculously proud off, as i've never done that before and it came out very well.

So yay! My boyfriend (okay, and my other friends too) thinks its really hot, especially with those boots I'm wearing in the picture Cheesy

Its really comfy, I highly suggest you make one Smiley

9  SF Dragon Hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by DM7DragonFyre on: July 28, 2007 11:16:40 AM
So I have been on this big reconstructing thing, and I've had this t-shirt my parents got me in San Francisco and I loved the design but not the shirt. It had a huge red chinese dragon over a gray tribal design... on a boring white shirt.

Blah.

However I didnt want to completely chop it up because, like i said, the design was killer. So. Mix in two plain red XL shirts from Michaels, and...

Oh yeah, and it has a hood Smiley

10  Organization XIII Hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by DM7DragonFyre on: July 16, 2007 07:39:23 PM
So... Kingdom Hearts... is awesome and a half. I have previously been seen knitting a heartless sweater. Then one day, whilst browsing the wonderful world of DeviantArt, I came across this...

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41932430/

Immediately I thought MUST HAVE so I went out in search of a black hoodie. Turns out its really really difficult to find a plain black hoodie in the middle of the summer... and then this morning I was walking down the stairs of my apartment complex when... BEHOLD! A plain black hoodie in my size was laying on the ground! Being thrifty (and evil) I stole it, and as I type I am wearing my Organization XIII hoodie with pride. Geeky, geeky pride.

BEHOLD.

(why do I look terrified in this pic...)

LOL IM SO EMO. angst.

woo.

I love it Smiley
