1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My favorite new dress on: August 03, 2007 04:41:20 PM
I wanted a sundress, so I made one.  It's a shirred top and a circle skirt.  I bought the fabric ages ago just because I loved it, and had it waiting for the perfect project.  I'll have to take a pic sometime of the dress without the cello in the way, but This is one of the few pics I have of the dress so far (all with cello in the way of the dress)

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / jumping on the shirring bandwagon on: June 15, 2007 05:30:12 AM
Here's my first attempt at shirring.  I was surprized at how easy it was.  The thing that took the most time was threading my new (well, new to me) machine that my dad bought me at an auction.  Now that I;ve figured it all out, I love it!  Much better than my 1970s model singer. (sorry for the pic quality, hard to take a good pic of yourself)

and here's the new machine (Dad couldn't leave it there when it was going for $15)

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / liqoragua shirt on: May 04, 2007 06:26:36 AM
One drunken night about 2 months ago, the country of Liquorgua was created, and the national cockass was appointed.  Being the MILF of family and community serviece, I felt it my duty to promote our fine country.  Here's the shirt I made.

Basically a tube top with straps added, and an iron on transfer.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / cords to skirt on: February 09, 2007 04:55:12 PM
I've been wanting to make some fun long full skirts to play cello in.  I had a great pair of cords, but they were too long, and had huge zippers at the bottom, so hemming wasn't an option.  Add some camo fabric triangles, and a long pleated strip at the bottom, and you have a funky new skirt.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Long full skirts on: February 09, 2007 06:18:25 AM
Hi All,

I've been looking to find some fun and funky skirt patterns that I can play cello in.  It must be long and full enough to sit with legs on either side of the cello.  Short skirts are not very ladylike in this situation.  I play in a rock band, so I'm not looking for anything too stuffy looking.  I've made one really fun cords to skirt recom that's perfect, but I'm looking for other tuts and patterns that would give a funky look, and aren't terribly difficult.  Any thoughts?

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / instrument themed swap for musicians? on: November 20, 2006 11:51:39 AM
I've seen a few cellists on here, and I'd love to do a cello themed swap.  I'm thinking little pouches for Resin, cello themed sheet music binders, or anything cello themed even sheet music you no longer use.  If we can't get enough cellists, I'm open to having other musicians join.  I think it would be really fun to match up people who play the same intrument with eachother.

Since there's no replies, I've changed the title to just instrument themed swap.  We could add in the questionnaire what instrument you play, and would you prefer to swap with someone who plays the same or a different instrument.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Far from perfect (AKA first completed outfit) on: October 17, 2006 06:52:33 PM
Well I'm proud of it, but it's far from perfect.  The neck doesn't look as wonky in person as it does in the photo.  I didn't have a pattern, I took a little info from a tut here, a little there, so it's really a mish mash of a bunch of things.

10  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / top thread keeps braking on: October 15, 2006 06:24:24 AM
Anyone know why the top thread keeps breaking on me?  I'll be sewing along, then I'll notice the top thread has broken.  It looks like it's frayed as though it's been rubbing againsst something.  Is it my tension?  I'm really new to sewing, so any suggestions would be great. Thanks
