Hmmmm, I've got some ideas. I don't know if I'm going to have enough time to make stuff.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Haha that fabric cracks me up. The cozy is great, looks really well done. Smiley

I don't think there should be any trouble making posts or anything. The only thing that kind of set me aback was where you said, "Please understand that I'm not a crazy gun person; I'm a white, rural-CA-dwelling, violence and crime disdaining, 32-year-old woman"  I'm not sure what being white has to do with proving your not a crazy gun shooting criminal. :/

other than that, I hate guns but I love the cozy! Smiley

I agree. Well spotted.

I thought the poster was being mega ironic, but now I realise, not so much irony with this tea cosy.

My advice to you would be to get a job in a similar place you'd like to open.

Consider it reserch.
Also, you must do a business plan.
Is NEIS still around? That'd be the way to go b/c they give you $ for the first year or 6 months.

There would be a lot involved, (issues with stuff being stolen), doing your GST thingys every quarter.

I don't want' to be discouraging, and others have done it successfully, but you need to know what's involved to give yourself the best chance.

I'm interested, is it too late?
30  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Melbourne, Vintage cork, givaway. on: September 19, 2008 09:12:48 PM

My parents had a gift shop (Gaslight Interiors) in the '70 in Railway Avenue, East Ringwood.

Being the good hoarders that they are, recently when they were pulling stuff out from under the house to put more stuff in, out came this box of cork that had been used for display purposes in the shop. It's chocolate brown in colour. Sadly its a bit fragile and tends to break and crumble.

I grabbed it because I thought I might be able to come up with something to do with it, maybe I could stop the crumble etc etc.

Anyway I have FAR TOO MANY unfinished projects and no more room. It has to go. So I'm offering it for free if anyone wants it.

If I can't give it away it might end up in landfill, as I don't want to put it in the compost as I don't know what's in it.

I'm also gonna post this on ravelry and freecycle later in the week.
I may try giving it to reverse garbage also.

Anyway....anyone interested? You will need to come to Ringwood to get it in the not too distant future.

Actually, it might be the kind of thing someone who displays stuff at craft markets might like....
