1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: When is the new Vogue Knitting out? on: July 21, 2007 07:00:20 PM
The Vogue Knitting Fall 2007 preview is now up on the website!  Yay!

2  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Michael Kors Aran Tee from Vogue Knitting on: December 12, 2005 12:01:37 PM
You've inspired me.  I'm in too, but only after I get all my Christmas projects done for other people.  Grrr.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Poor Poor Lizzie - my second attempt at a Spencer on: April 21, 2005 01:54:30 PM
Love it!  I adore Jane Austen and every movie based on her books - especially Emma and P & P.

A pattern would be awsome if you're up to posting it!

Wow...those are great!  I might have to steal the kiwi idea.
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crocheted button necklace on: April 15, 2005 07:31:40 AM
That looks great!  I like your choice of button colours.

I just put this one on my to do list - thanks for posting it here!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Ruffles!! (Not from Scarf Style) on: April 13, 2005 04:33:07 PM
Puppymomma - the yarn is Patons "Divine" and I think the colour was "Chantilly" or something like that.  Glad you like it!

Word from the wise: this yarn is very hairy and difficult to work with.  Definitely not recommended for the inexperienced knitter.  My couch is now covered with tiny pink fibers.  However, now that it is all worked up it doesn't seem to produce as much lint.

That looks awesome snowflake!  Yours looks so light!  I just finished mine in much heavier yarn...

I'm so happy with the way it turned out.  I was worried that a finished scarf in pink wool would remind me of intestines (don't ask), but it actually reminds me of the last dress Audrey Hepburn wore in My Fair Lady.

Thanks for posting the pattern here!

goescrunch...I found this a bit confusing too.  It is explained here

with pictures under "increasing".

Ms. Snit...I'm casting off too.  Yay!  So much fun (clearly I don't get out enough).
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: HELP! holes in jeans!!! and i DON'T want em there!! on: April 09, 2005 10:25:26 AM
I just fixed a pair of jeans that had a tear in the knee.  First I sewed the tear together as invisibly as I could with matching thread.  Then I ironed a jean patch on the inside of the jeans.  That way, the patch reinforces the stitching, but you don't have to worry about getting a matching colour.

I did find the patch a little stiff, but it seemed to soften up a little and hold up well in the wash.  Hope that helps!
