Everyone's using resin because apparently it dries super rock hard. I prefer to stay away from resin because it takes way too long to cure. Unless there is a quick-drying resin that I don't know about?

I heard (more like read) Diane B. say that clear polyurethane would work well to make an item more scratch proof. What brand and type would you recommend?

I've tried 3D Crystal Lacquer and embossing powder and know that these two scratch easily. I've read that Diamond Glaze can give people nightmares with their bubbles, so I steer clear away from that too.

Hi, I just got myself a toaster oven (Rival brand) and I've also put in a Sculpey oven thermometer to check the temperature. I've got that right at 275 F  and I chucked in a little piece of clay (perhaps smaller than an 1cm x 1cm cube) on a ceramic tile, with an aluminum foil roof over the clay piece. It's been sitting in there for over an hour and it's still a little soft inside. I've put the toaster oven to "Stay On" rather than use the timer.

I'm not sure what's wrong! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I was just wondering, to all of you crafters/sellers who have gotten reviewed/published by magazines (offline or online): How did you get them to notice you?

Most of the time, do they come to you, approach you if they could publish your items in their magazine?

Or do you email them and send them pictures?

I've seen some online shops that have had dozens and dozens of press releases, mostly from offline magazines like Seventeen Magazine. That's just wow!

I'm from Malaysia, and I own an online jewelry shop.

I plan to revamp my website with a new brand identity. And in the process, I had an idea to split my website into two, one site for local and neighbouring visitors, another for international visitors (US, Australia, Canada, etc).

The reason being, is so I can set the local currency for the local site, and USD for the international site.
I use Mal's E-Commerce so this currency conversion cannot be done automatically.

However, it is easier for me to ship locally; handling is easier and receiving payment is also easier for me (I don't have to go through Paypal, if I were to withdraw Paypal credit into my card, I'll be charged a heavy fee. So most of the time money sent to my Paypal account stays there and is "not in my hands" if you get what I mean) so I can afford to charge local buyers a price that is slightly lower than the price set in USD in the international site.

Question now is: Would you, as an international customer, be peeved and pissed off at the fact that local buyers get a lower price? Eg. USD10.00 (international price) and USD8.00 (local price).

I for one, feel this situation is a little vague in terms of ethics. I need your opinion, please!

Okay so I'm reaaaallly lost about processing credit card payments.

I've just set up Mal's E-Commerce.
Payment methods I'm accepting are Cash On Delivery, Direct Deposit and Paypal.

I would want to accept credit cards as well, for people who DON'T have a Paypal account.

Paypal have got quite a number of solutions for this, but it confuses the hell out of me! I've noted that this Paypal Pro Link thing works, but you have to pay USD30/month? >.<
Sorry but I'd like to not have to dish out any money for this (except for transaction fees) if I can.

Can anyone please help clarify this? If I can use Paypal to accept credit cards, what do I need to do so that the option is put into Mal's E's checkout page?

My mom just got us a sewing machine My first project was to alter our living room curtains because they were too long xD

But now I'm very interested in sewing my own clothing and I have tons of unused cloth. What would you recommend me to do first? Or are there websites that have very in-depth tutorials, seeing as I'm a fairly new to sewing with a sewing machine.
