1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A sweater I like to call: Smalltown Girl (IMG laden) on: August 12, 2007 03:35:58 PM
Here is a sweater of my own design that I was commissioned to make by a friend. It was a joint effort that arose out of a conversation we had one night about ways that I could exploit the lowest common denominator to sell my knit designs. ie: knitting sweaters with pot leafs or Canadian flags or mud flap girls or "Budweiser" emblazoned on them.

My dear friend called me the next day with the realization that "Hey, I actually want that Mudflap girl sweater!"
So I drew up a few designs for her and she chose her favourite and away I went, or away i knit I suppose. This is the result in all its epic glory....

Who wants tickets to the gun show?

I started with a basic topdown raglan and added all the fancy stuff. The yarn is all reclaimed from thrift store sweaters, except the collar and belt which is White Buffalo yarn that I also found at the thrift store for a dollar. The whole thing cost about 12 dollars to make!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitty Spring 2007 on: March 07, 2007 11:08:27 AM
The spring Knitty is here.

Although I have to say, I am not terribly impressed with the patterns.

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / certified organic heirloom seed company on: March 09, 2006 07:00:31 PM
Howdy all you gardening fools!
I have been reading all your lovely posts and realized that this would be the perfect place to do a shameless plug
for Two Wings Farm Certified Organic Seeds (owned and operated by my lovely murm and pappy). There is a severe shortage of available certified organic seed out there so I thought that all you environment conscious gardeners might appreciate the link.
I think I should warn all you American seed seekers that they have had troubles in the past shipping into the US, what with those bitches at customs and whatnot.
But for the rest of you Canadian types its fair game!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Dressew has yarn!! on: February 07, 2006 05:39:44 PM
Thats right all you Vancouver ladies and gents, it seems our favourite local discount crafty store has got a shipment of yarn in! Yaaay!
They are going for betwen 1.99 and 4.99 per, unfortunately its all mostly nylon/ cotton/ acrylic blends, but there's a lot of funky colours and textures to choose from.
Just thought I'd give you the heads up!
