I had to start over on one of my items because it just wasn't working out. So that one is about 90% done, just sitting around in pieces. The other is finished and ready to go out. I will definitely be mailing everything today, though!

That's EXACTLY what I want to make for my newbie due in Jan! I want to do hot pink and black though. Thanks for the link to the pattern.

I might like to try this one depending on crafting time and send out. I never seem able to make easy small ami. If it's not a challenge for me it stays a WIP forever. So when I want little I use crystal crochet thread. Like a did on this ami of Tudi from Yo Gabba Gabba, a pattern by CraftyisCool on etsy.

I also need send outs  the second or third of the month as that's when I can get transportation into town.
That's Foofa! My 20-month-old told me. She is his girlfriend.

I love it, it looks like you thought of everything! The quilting on the back looks really great. We just moved within 4 hours of my in-laws and after being 20 hours away, they think 4 is a walk in the park so I think we'll be doing a lot of car trips in the future, these would be great for my boys.

And before I read the whole post, I almost had to comment on the chest clip. I really ought to look into becoming a car seat tech, I'm really, um, intense, about these things. I really think it's cool that he's rear-facing at 3, my 3yo outgrew the RF weight limit for his seat at 2.
49  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Baby Monsters! Very basic amigurumi and tutorial to get you started! on: September 04, 2010 12:57:52 PM
Okeydokey. Here's mine. Except I am lazy and I don't like to sew pieces together. So on the last round I crocheted in the back loops only, then decreased til I had 6sts and sewed together. It makes a nice little base for him to sit. My 3yo insisted on using the nose so I left the mouth off.
50  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Things that fly on: September 04, 2010 12:30:54 PM
I made this airplane for my 3yo. He's disappointed because the propeller doesn't actually turn  Undecided And he wanted red, but I didn't have any red yarn. The pattern is from Ana Paula Rimoli's "Amigurumi Two!" I'm sure it isn't quite right because he kept running off with it whenever I set it down and unraveling a bunch of stitches, lol

I totally staged that picture, BTW. Snuck in his room while he was napping and stuck it under his arm.

For some reason, I'm drawn to making birds. (here is the other one I posted today) I think this is the best bird pattern I've run across, although I made a few changes. It's the bluebird pattern from "Super-Super Cute Crochet" by Brigitte Read. Obviously, I made mine a robin because I miss the robins back home in IL. There aren't any here in CO! Plenty of sparrows, pigeons, and love doves, but no robins. I changed the head angle because I liked her sitting up more. The original would had the whole belly facing down with the head completely on the brown, and when I was playing around with arranging all the pieces, I just liked this better. I also reduced the number of stitches in the head because it would've been way ginormous. Interestingly, the way I made it looks like the picture in the book. The pattern also didn't show you how to make that little dip in the tail, it just had treble crochet all the way across, but the picture shows the dip. So I did hdc for the middle 2 stitches and it turned out alright.
OK, 'nuff gabbing. Pictures.

3yo takes her for a ride in the beach patrol truck.

Love the posable wings!
